Clutch bits are one of the most unique design in the specialty category. When you look at the tip from the top, it take on a bow tie or hourglass shape. These bits were very popular on vintage motorhomes. If you own one or are thinking about buying one to restore, chances are you’ll need a set of clutch bits.

Wow, what an incredible transformation! It's amazing to see how Lost & Restored turned a rusty, century-old electric fencer into a practical and useful power supply for rust removal. The creativity and craftsmanship on display here are truly commendable. It's inspiring to witness the repurposing of old technology to serve a new purpose. Great work, Lost & Restored! Looking forward to more fascinating restoration projects like this.

I would prefer an old fashioned battery charger. They work great on completely dead batteries. An old fashioned battery charger works very well for electrolysis as well. I have also used them to power low voltage soldering irons. A battery charger needs a few extras but they are easily and cheaply obtained. I do like the workmanship.

This was a great repurposing. Sometimes, it is hard to justify whether to restore, repurpose, or just junk it. In this case case I think you made a good call. The main thing is that you did not do anything to the case that could not be restored to the original if some future antique addict chooses to do so. It looks the same but has a new function somewhat akin to the original. Cool piece, I was thinking of a lamp or USB charging station.

not 100 years old, but pretty old. I had one just like it that I bought at a junk sale from a neighboring farm. THe "chopper" inserts would cause it to cycle and burn any weeds or grass that grew into the fence. Does this new one actually charge a fence and burn weeds/grass or just charge a battery? Looks darn good either way.

Nice repurposing project. BUT, with a little clever thinking, you could make it do both purposes. A mere DPDT switch and it could also be used as a fence charger. The old high voltage transformer can easily be rewound to make it such a project. And new caps as well. Just an idea since you asked for ideas... Thumbs Up!
