    I've had this in my tool box for over 30 years..Chinese label..."Great Wall" The first time I saw one of these was in the 1948 movie.."Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein" Costello was opening a crate that contained Draculas Coffin....=))

    I was using that exact same axe to cut wood 30yr ago, when I was 5yo. My mother saw it as punishment. I saw it as fun. Remember one day, I filled bins, and half the garden before she stopped me. After that,I had to beg to chop wood.

    Those "Skatchets" were marketed in Hunting/Fishing magazines, among other places. I don't think that is a casting. It's more likely a very quick forging.

    Nice restoration, but that is not an antique hammer/hatcher multi tool. That is a drywallers hammer still bought as used today.
