    WARNING *** This is not a good job! It is clearly done by amateurs who know enough to be dangerous. Nothing is more important than your brake system so it must be done correctly. NEVER use a single flare on an automotive brake line. It must be an Inverted Flare (IFF). Those "threads" as you call them, are 3/8" inverted flare NUTS for 3/16" brake line. Some M/Cs use a 7/16" inverted flare nut, also for 3/16" brake line. BTW, metric brakes use the same exact brake line.

    Can you explain gravity feed. I've tried it before when I've redone lines and it didnt work worth crap. Is the idea for the fluid to push air out of the bleeders or for the air to rise out of the reservoir

  • @Nthefastlane

    @Nthefastlane

    9 жыл бұрын

    Yes, fill the reservoir to the top and crack all the bleeder nipples until they have a constant drip..once they do, that means all the air is out of the lines. If it's not working, sometimes to get the process started you have to pump the pedal fast and on the last pump pull the pedal back up if it hasn't by itself. Also the position of the vehicle matters. Air bubbles travel up so make sure the vehicle is angled in a way that the bubble can travel up to begin the dripping process.

    In house plumbing great job . in car repair you need bubble wall steel brake lines an s you skipped one step you need to start a dubble flare then use the flair to finish. To get a rubble flair . if that car went in for inspection and it was leaking I would fail your job . and rip it out and replace it from front to back

    DOUBLE flare ALL brake lines whether using a brass union or not, it is DOT, you cause an accident because of this flare failing, whoever did it is liable in court for the consequences of their negligence. With all this trouble, why wasn't the entire line replaced and a lot of pointless time and parts avoided.

    This is illegal in the states and in Europe not to mention dangerous. You need a double flair for the US or a bubble flair for Europe. Brakes can get up to 1500 psi and a 45degree flair is not strong enough
