Russian Forces Unleash New Strategies in Ukraine Using Iskander M Missiles

Ғылым және технология

In the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, a disturbing and unconventional strategy has emerged. Russian military correspondent Alexander Kots claimed that Moscow is now employing Iskander missiles in quick succession at the same target, catching Ukrainian forces off guard and causing maximum casualties.
The "Iskander-M" tactical ballistic missile is a short-range ballistic weapon that has the ability to eliminate enemy command posts, equipment convoys, and air defense systems. Its effectiveness lies not only in carrying specialized penetrative warheads but also in creating challenges for enemy air defense systems, making interception challenging. With a payload spanning from 400kg to 700kg, the "Iskander-M" guided missile can effectively target enemy positions up to 500 km.
Traditionally, Ukrainians have come to expect a single Iskander strike, giving them precious moments to adjust their battlefield positions and initiate countermeasures. However, in this new tactic called ‘Double Tap’, Russia launched swift and consecutive missile strikes, leaving Ukrainian forces stunned at a tactical disadvantage.

    I know exactly when this double tap strategy appeared. It was the day when the plane with the prisoners of war was shot down. This plane was shot down by French mercenaries operating the Patriot system. Next, the Russians sent Iskander to the hotel where the French were staying. When the French officers came for the bodies of the mercenaries, another rocket landed.

    The USA complained that Iskanders break rules once made with the USSR, yet Washington supplied Kiev with banned cluster munitions as being cheaper than ATACMS missiles, which are similar if cruder than Iskanders. Of course the USA has never signed the accord on cluster munitions (2008 and accepted into UN law in 2010) because it is the only country still making them. By transporting these vile weapons through the airspace or landing agreements with signatory states those states are in breach of the laws whether they have been duped by Uncle Sam or not. Poland, Romania, Latvia and Estonia still have not signed and really better had. US abuse of the laws of other nations is weakening NATO and deservedly so. The ISW is not an institute of academic stature but a business comprising ex-military and political people and based in Washington DC. Its opinions are about as reliable as so-called UK Min of Defence bulletins, which were first issued when Wallace was minister. They do not reflect real intelligence gathered by British security services and have been shown to be inaccurate time and again. We Brits who bother with hype and reality resent the MoD wasting our tax money on publishing dishonest speculation. Put simply, Russia does not throw things away and both adapts older weapons such as FAB and has led the field in missile design for many years. Why? Because the USA uses NATO forward positions and other bases around the world as well as having over 50% of the world's aircraft carriers. Russia therefore develops weapons of greater range and versality in response and stories of dependence on western hi-tech parts evidently does not correspond to the truth. Once upon a time it applied to some components but Russia developed its own microchip industries both alone and with trusted states. Read Jane's for details. 'Double tap' as a tactic dates back to Bronze Age cultures on most continents.

    Double Tap strategy is effective for removing troops from the war. AFI is running out of troops. Ukraine did well fighting against eastern Ukrainians who were out gunned, less organized and had less troops. Now AFU is knowing the sting of war they inflicted on the eastern Ukrainians.

  • @docchiro100
    @docchiro1003 ай бұрын

    First off militaries usually don’t use expensive missles to kill troops unless it’s a very high concentration of them. Hits usually include infrastructure that makes or stores weapons, Headquarters, communications, or electrical grid. Secondly double tap is not used to kill the 10 or so people that might already be insight to help out. The second missle is to make sure the building is destroyed because most buildings are Soviet style buildings and are built to withstand multiple hits. Another reason why multiple missles are fired is to confuse Ukraine radar anti air-craft systems. Thirdly this isn’t what really happens under a Russian missle strike. Instead of two missles being fired at once, they usually fire multiple and not only at one target but multiple targets and this includes the slower drones which criss cross the skies to confuse the radars even more. These are precisely targeted because Russia, just like the US would do, doesn’t want to waste expensive missles on targets that won’t make a military difference. Finally, time to stop your propaganda

    As for the sanctions impact: the only Western components you would like in rocketry is CPU driven navigation / guidance block, which could utilize a Texas instruments mainstream CPU's or a CPU from an old Sound Blaster audio PCI card. Simply because it is more economical than mass-production of your own chips. And no sanctions would block the flow of such CPUs from African and Chinese recycling scrapheaps (you can duplicate and pair such blocks for extra redundancy). Whoever believes that Western sanctions could significantly impair rocketry production is an ignoramus.

    Knocking in the door refers to an artillery with a dude round hitting an area then few minutes later using real rounds. Two different things. One doesn't cause destruction but instead warns then destroys. The other causes destruction then again destroys what comes to help or repair

    The trucks can't stick around to fire the second missile, so are both fired off at the same time but the second takes a longer path to the target?

    The double tap is used by the US in its wars as well. It's an old tactic.

    The "double tap" tactic is the same tactic Ukraine used on civilians in Donetsk. At least Russia appears to be using this tactic on military targets.
