Today he has developed into something encompassing all the good bits, (grown times 100), kept the looks, spirit and style, minus the drugs and alcohol, with an incredibly amazing mind. (Pity though, some are threatened and jealous, still stuck there. If only they could hear what he says.)

I love the way he speaks! He says the most obscene things, but he coats it in such flowery poetry, accented with an amazing vocabulary, and it just sounds so lovely. XD

jonathan ross was a good man to shake his hand after he said he'd been clean for 3 and a half years, not many hosts would do that. kudos to both men here.

Russel seems to have far more redeeming qualities than condemning ones. 9:29 for one is so genuine and appreciative and warm that i imagine it's a glimpse of what carried his friendships through even the periods he describes as his darkest.

Getting off drugs is, and I think the majority would also think, harder than resisting the temptation to start using drugs. He overcame inevitable self-destruction. You've not overcome that, I would suspect. They're not applauding him for doing drugs once, they're applauding him because of the beating of an addiction. Well done for doing what humans are supposed to do, exist, with ease.

It's interesting that Russell pronounces the 'th' as in 'thusly' in standard English, yet pronounces many 'th' sounds as 'f' in his classic, native Essex dialect.

@VeiGee1,had to set the story straight. 'omgu8mynewt's' comment is false. Russel was not arrested for being "drunk and disorderly". A civilian in the U.S. made a citizen (paparazzi) arrest, presumably on assault charges after Russel pushed his camera. The video can be found on youtube.
