I feel this movie is currently underrated because people watching it now have heard every song umpteenth times in crappy commercials and other movies. When it first came out, all these British invasion songs had never been heard of by me and really added so much to the movie.

Wes Anderson movies always have great soundtracks. Altho, they kinda all sound the same.

Rushmore was a lot of things, but, profound and poignant? It's not Dostoevsky.

You said it was a lot of things, But not only did you fail to mention any of them. You instead chose to immediately do a 180 and assert what it's not....how does this comment resolve itself in your mind to not be anything but drivel? Seriously?

Terrible film and Star Vehicle for an Unknown Actor who has No Appeal, Charisma or Presence in the leading Role! The Film tries to be appealing but fails miserably. Luckily the Public didn’t buy it and the film failed completely and to this day the lead Actor remains unknown and probably bags Groceries at the local Grocery Store. Sometimes Untalented people get what they Deserve and it’s called Obscurity!

Thankfully the by far majority of actual known critics strongly disagree with your easily forgettable opinion. Now go whine about your opinions to your mom, as she's the only one who will take them seriously.
