This was at the end of a 3 hour show - absolutely shredding it & all 3 in their fifties at the time. Saw this at Newcastle UK. No band quite like Rush.

I was actually at the "Live in Cleveland" show.
Welcome to Rush! Three master musicians from Toronto, Canada Geddy Lee vocals, bass and keyboards Alex Lifeson guitar, mandola and later keyboards Neil Peart drums, percussion and main lyrist. Unfortunately Neil Peart passed from brain cancer in January of 2020. These guys were not only band mates but also best friends. There was a true brotherhood between them They always took their music but not themselves seriously and they all had/have a great sense of humour. Geddy and Alex met when they were 13 in junior high school and are still best friends today. I really enjoyed your reaction. Other Songs Xanadu from Exit Stage Left. YYZ live in Rio La Villa Strangiato official music video Natural Science from the Molson Amphitheatre Toronto Digital Man from the Snakes and Arrows tour Cheers 🇨🇦
Rush - YYZ Live In Rio - 50,000 fans singing along to an instrumental piece - fasten your seatbelts!! 🎤 🎹 🎸 🥁 🎸 🔥 🔥 🔥
No band can go from bob Marley to Metallica/Iron Maiden in 1 second/note so smoothly that it leaves your jaw on the floor like that other than Rush not one❤️🤘🖖✌️🎸🎸🥁🎤🥇🇨🇦🎼👌😳🎼👍
I appreciate you two! Rush is a band you will grow to love, even if it's not really your preferred genre. They are just so good and so cool and so nice....As you mentioned, they paid their dues doing over 200 shows a year for decades!! They played what they wanted, not what the record companies wanted. They were trashed constantly by the music media and were kept out of the Rock and Roll hall of fame for so long that it was a running joke and they wore it like a badge of honor until they finally made it.

Blah blah blah 😄
This was a special audience for Rush - Cleveland was where a radio DJ took this band's demo tape and played it - a song titled "Working Man". The radio station's phone rang off the hook as people asked if this was from a new Led Zeppelin album.
Wow. Never heard this reggae take on their classic song. It's a nice tweak. Just know that the original is hard rock beginning to end.
Three extremely talented musicians created a sound that most bands with five members couldn’t make.
I've seen Rush 49 times and it's not enough. R.I.P. Neil! RUSH FOREVER!
Nice reaction. And please do more Rush! 58 now be listening to them since my teens.. I've seen them in concert five times over the course .. permanent waves tour to the R40 tour... These guys are Canadian icons and will never be forgotten. RIP.. The Professor Neil Peart🍻🇨🇦
This is one of my favorite Rush videos for many reasons, not least of all The Professors show of emotion at the end.

Always love seeing Neil like that! It happens so rarely!
That’s how men in their 60s rock!!! 3 genius musicians. King Lerxst on guitar!!
So this is how they ended a 3 hour show. Also while Toronto was their home and primary love they had a secondary relationship with Cleveland and with Working Man as this is where is first got airplay and helped launch then as a band in the states.
Thanks for caring about where to pause - I think you will discover you can't really guess with Rush where to do that, so don't worry about it. Many times, it seems all three are "soloing" at the same time. Luckily, there are a lot of older live videos with these guys, so you can see what they looked like in the 70's/80's. You are going to like the ride.
I spent my twenties listening to prog rock, mostly Rush, Styx, Kansas, and Yes. I would just sit and get lost in the composition and progressions as the music wove in and out. Good to go back and remember the vibe they produce. Great reaction, keep rocking.
here they were at their prime in their 60's... if you want to see them in their prime in their 20's I suggest very much you react to the song Xanadu from the exit stage left show... that is a master piece... you'll see that their tallent was no joke still at this young age... have fun and thank you for reacting to Rush!
First saw them on the Hemispheres tour in 78 and more than 20 times since. Displaced my first love - led Zep - and are still first. Interestingly this was the last song they ever played in LA on the R40 tour.

Just imagine doing your job and bring joy to so many people
Such a lovely couple with intelligent, open minded reactions!! much love!! xo
Thank you for the reaction. I'm a Canadian who has been listening to Rush since I was a teenager, growing up in Western Canada. Of the gods, literally. Artistic expression at its epoch. Perfect. I enjoyed your relational communication as well. : )
You guys are friggen adorable!! But what a Rush eh? 😎Very deep rabbit hole but well worth the ride. Best of luck to you both and the journey ahead. Cheers.
What you just witnessed was 3 master musicians, in their late 50's, absolutely ROCKING out to a song that was their first 'big' hit in 1974 - and making it heavier than the original! Each member consistently gets ranked as some of the best of their respective instruments. You would be VERY well served to do a deep, deep dive into this trio from Toronto - you won't regret it! I would also make note of their lyrics - as the drummer, Neil Peart, is the principal lyricist - and always has something poignant to say. Future considerations: Xanadu, La Villa Strangiato, Limelight, 2112, Subdivisions, The Spirit Of Radio...that's good for starters... you will not be disappointed!! Cheers from Canada.
RUSH - XANADU (LIVE EXIT STAGE LEFT)
Rush is a band which through own career played a various type of music compositions but it was always a rock genre. If you will meet their legendary masterpieces hits of progressive rock you will notice how huge artists they were. Be prepared because that was only a one from few faces of their greatness. :))
Saw this this show Hershey Pa March 2011 my head melted
Three 60 year old virtuoso musicians giving an encore after a 3 hour concert. Yeah they still got it. Amazing.
Rush was one of the best bands I ever seen and you… are a very nice and lovely couple 😁👍💖
The Jamaican beginning is not the way Rush originally recorded the song. It was recorded as a heavy rock song. They added the Jamaican beginning during the live show as a way to 'change it up'. It really made it a WOW moment for the crowd. Over the forty years together, Rush has released all kinds of fantastic music. The last song on their last album was a beautiful song with an orchestral string section, called "The Garden". They were truly amazingly creative and talented musicians. This song isn't the best demonstration of Neil Peart's drumming talent. Neil didn't originally perform this song when the album was released. He wasn't with the band during the first album. The original drummer was named John Rutsey, and he left the band just before Rush toured to promote the first album. Neil replaced John Rutsey in the band during the first concert tour and was with them every album after that. He wrote almost all the lyrics and his drum parts. He was the best drummer in the world, and I miss him (and Rush) every day. If Neil had arranged the drumming for this song, it would have been completely different. RIP Neil Peart! Rush isn't named Rush for no reason. They are simply amazing and a rush to watch. They are always fun and exciting. Forty years of fantastic music. My favorite band and my rock heroes. Amazing musicians.
Loved the song & loved the "blah, blah, blah" and you're live & appreciation of each other just as much. God Bless
Saw this tour live! amazing evening. Cleveland was the city where this song and the band broke big!
You guys s are going to be Rush fans. Your life just changed.
Great reaction. So glad you have found Rush. Enjoy your journey.
Classic and brilliant!!! brings back memories from my childhood love and light hugs 🤗 💜💜💜💜💜
The first part was live, fun, musician's-fun playful and alternate version for the fans who are familiar.. the song , as written, as all heavy rock.
This was the Finale of a three hour show. That is the energy of RUSH!! Check out Neil Pearts Drum Solo Live in Frankfurt.
So cute to see y'all get excited! I hadn't seen this tour video before-- looking for a Blu-Ray now!!
The 3 best rock musicians on the planet in one band; phenomenal. Proud to count them as my fellow countrymen; long live Rush!
This is the song that broke them into radio play in the states. Donna Halpern at a Cleveland radio station got their album and dropped the needle on the longest track. This was it, she started it in the rotation and the rest is history
This is just three best friends jamming in a garage!!!

This and Fly by Night are the best of the earliest Rush songs
So happy to see you guys happy.
Great reaction guys. From this same concert you should check out the greatest intro ever. Its long but so worth it.
Added comment, they have an instrumental. YYZ YOU SHOULD SEE “ YYZ in Rio “ there were approx 800,000 fans all singing to an instrumental!
I saw them in concert in about '77 or '78 (2112) and I could not believe SO MUCH SOUND was coming from them. I still talk about that concert to this day . . . like I just did.
This was my #1 band since as a teenager. Then I discovered Tool and they became my new favorite when I discovered them in the 90s. They both seem similar but in different ways; hard yet progressive, creative and beautiful, with incredible talent and musicianship. Please, please react to Rush - Xanadu! Thank you. Great video!
Welcome to the family...enjoy this deep rabbit hole....I have my whole life
Really enjoy your reactions. Your Rush ones have been great. Ren as well! While this wouldn’t be a video for KZread, you really should watch the documentary on RUSH called ‘Beyond the lighted stage’. It gives an amazing look inside the band and its members. I guarantee you’ll like it so much you’ll watch it a few times.
Love Rush and I loved you guys. You get the like and the sub. Just found you. That was really great!!!
I’ve watched this performance at least 100 times. Never gets old.
The next song you should check out is Xanadu from exit stage left 1981!
Here are a list of songs that make you ask, "Are you sure that this is only three people?"; - YYZ, from MOVING PICTURES - Xanadu, from EXIT - STAGE LEFT (a live album) - La Villa Strangiato, from HEMISPHERES - Half The World, from TEST FOR ECHO - By-Tor And The Snow Dog, from FLY BY NIGHT

YYZ in Rio is my favorite version and La Villa Strangiato live.
One of the best bands ever
I saw Rush 5 times An incredible band
I was at this concert in Cleveland. RIP Neil Peart. Rush fans miss you.😢
True Gods of Rock!
Good video, you should lesson La Villa Strangiato of the same show...!
great great reactions - thanks
You need to listen to the original studio version of this song The way they Played it in the early seventies It is a rocking rocking song. And Geddy Lee. The singer's voice was much better back then when he was younger.
I was at this Rockin' concert middle
One of Canada's Best
Anybody that love's and or likes Rush, Welcome to the family👍🤘👽
It's funny that you said "blah blah blah" because the guitarist Alex Lifeson has a some what famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame speech that goes something like that.
Welcome to the Rush wormhole !! 😎
I had the sad experience of living in Hawaii. I was there 3 1/2 years and that was 3 years 5 months too long. Needless to say, NOT an 808 fan. The only thing that kept me sane was a nearby nightclub that had live music every Friday and Saturday nights. There was a band that played this song and nailed it. I requested it every time I went there. So, when they came in and saw me, they KNEW they were going to be "Workin' Men". RUP Neil.😇 I appreciate what they're doing here but I'm not really high on the reggae kickoff.
The greatest!
I'm a huge fan of RUSH. Geddy is a phenomenal bass player and Alex is a master guitar player. I'm not a big fan of this Reggae version of this song. I love the original so much. Im not saying it's a bad version. At least it wasn't too long. Great reaction video as I always expect from you.
Hands down ladies and gentlemen the Greatest Band of All Time bar none
The digression about language ... You guys are kinda adorable.

🤗 Subbed for Rush! 🥰🐰
I may be wrong, but these are not what we would calls solos, but more of what the industry would consider a jam session.
Now that you have reacted to this version, you should react to the album version. It's a rocker from start to finish.
Towards their later years they didn't have an opening act because they had so much music to perform. It was the same for McCartney , and Springsteen.
excellent reaction and great naturalness. with RUSH expect the unexpected, time changes, unexpected bass, guitar and drum fellings. each song is different from the other for example 2112 lasts 20 minutes has 7 parts, The Spirit of Radio, Freewill, Limelight and the best known Tom Sawyer... but don't listen too much to RUSH you can become fans. again great reaction.
Instrumentation Great 😊
Hi, I recommend heard "La poderosa muerte" de Los Jaivas band. They are a chilean prog and psicodelic band. Thank
good reaction, seen them in the 80's and it was good but Lee's voice was shot back then
Greatest 3 piece Prog-rock band ......ever. And yes, Neil is probably the greatest rock drummer to ever pick up a pair of sticks. Next on your Rush journey.....Tom Sawyer, and Limelight. As always, RIP to The Professor.
Yes……Go Canada.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Generally speaking, their live versions are better than their studio versions... just my opinion. 🤘😁🤘
🇨🇦💪🏻
I like that girl
Most of the guitar solos are just jam sessions, all three participates.
Pozdrawiam Was.
Rush aren't my fave band, but I think they are the the most talented musically... Amazing musicians, great lyrics. You've got to check out more.😆 I prefer the album version btw, the lyrics are better. Here's a link to an amazing song called Tom Sawyer one of their best; kzread.info/dash/bejne/hW2dt6izhbGbZLw.html

DO TOM SAWYER NEXT, PLEASE!!!
You should listen to the studio version. This is not the best one. They were fucking around here.
Ah, we meet again, Rush fans .....
Blah, blah, blah? You probably didn't realize you were quoting the guitarist Alex Lifeson's Rock n Roll Hall of Fame speech.
As much as they rock, Geddy's voice in his older age just isn't up to what it was (that's normal!). He used to have an on point, high pitched, strong singing voice but in these later videos, he's "nasally" and "throaty" in order to reach the notes. My ears bleed from it, lol! Absolutely legendary band, though.
