As one goes through life, there is always a Rush song to describe any single moment in a lyrical and emotional way that no other band has been able to do for me personally. And I've been connecting with their music for 45 years now since first seeing them live in 1976. Thanks for reacting to this!

From 1977-1985 I feel like every album they released is a stone cold masterpiece. I like some stuff off of earlier and later albums, but I can (and have) listen to the run from "Farewell to Kings" through"Power Windows" and love every single moment.

Alex had taken a bit of a back seat for the recording of Signals so this was the album where he really found a way to integrate his guitar playing into Geddy's keyboard oriented vision of the band. I think Grace Under Pressure is one of the most cohesive and best albums Rush recorded. Right up there with Hemispheres and Moving Pictures.

This is during the period when Alex was really loving U2's The Edge and the guitarist from Simple Minds. He wanted to invoke some of those tones and that "edge" (no pun intended), in his sound and attack. This is a really under-appreciated song, although I believe they did do this song on the Grace Under Pressure tour. Everything they do/did was so earnest, passionate and open-hearted. Yes, they were Tech-heads in their chops and focus on cutting edge musical technology and themes, but they were also great people and they were speaking to us from the heart!

It's beyond me how they can create so many really great songs that sound so different. I mean a singer with the same voice figuring out how to approach each song in a way that gives it it's own unique life, that short circuits my head.

Grace under pressure, still one of my favorite albums, mostly for Alex‘s guitar tone throughout and some fantastic solos. This song is remarkable for how much space the group creates going into the guitar solo which is then heavily just chords it really build the anticipation until Alex’s solo explodes onto the scene. Rush is so great at creating that space and tone and taking their time to build some thing like that. it’s masterful.

Watching you get off on RUSH brings me so much joy!!! I am 48 years old and I remember laying in my bed as a teenager discovering all these tunes. I wish I could back in time and do it all over again. I remember just smiling and laughing with utter excitement to hear them. I had a pair of KOSS headphones and I would lay in my bed and go into a different land. I love how Doug is getting after the 80's work because a-lot of people discount those years. However, I would love you to go deep and attack some crazy ass crap , Like By-Tor and the Snow-dog or a Farewell to Kings. and the list goes on. lol. Keep it going my man!!! Peace.

The lyrics to this song are filled with lovely, sad, and wistful scenes of nostalgia about a person who was loved, and the confusion over how you're supposed to feel when that person dies. But the music is so forceful, defiant, and angry that you can tell right away how they're feeling. The whole P/G album has this kind of angry tone tone of wasted loss no matter what the subject matter is. It's such a compelling album.

Been a rush fan my whole life (I'm a drummer, do the math... I'm 54) and this song and this album has always been one of my favorites by Rush. I do a deep dive every few years and for some reason I've been grooving on this song all week non-stop and thought I'll go see if there's a reaction on it. Wasn't sure if there would be since it's sort of a deep cut. Cool to see you grooving on it even though you've only recently discovered them. I love seeing the natural reaction because it's the same way I feel and many others react and feel (still) about the music. It just gets you groovin. Anyways, I will subscribe and check out the rest of your videos - since you were digging this, and Rush, I know the rest of your reactions will be great. Good work. 👊

Thing about Grace Under Pressure, Alex had already grown weary of all the keyboards and synths, felt like he was having to work too hard just to find a place for his guitar playing; if you listen you can hear his frustration, his playing is aggressive and jagged on this album
