@sgtpepper1138 Yeah when I first noticed I was a little surprised too. I thought maybe he did it just becasue hes not interesting in playing the keyboard now, but it turns out hes does the exact same thing on A Show of Hands where all he cared then was playing keyboard. My guess, he just wants to make it easier just to make it easier lol

Wow, I was at this concert. I never missed a Rush tour beginning with Permanent Waves 1980. When he said “Hello Orlando” I knew I had to be at this show. This must have been the Hold Your Fire tour, so it would have actually been in Lakeland, at the Lakeland Civic Center, which was about an hour drive from Orlando. In fact, it sat between Orlando and Tampa along I-4, but it doesn’t sound like it because that place had terrible acoustics because the area had a tin roof? It wasn’t until the Presto tour that Orlando finally had an arena and every Rush concert would play there, where it was not only much closer, but also had great soundproofing and acoustics. Only Vapor Trails didn’t come through Orlando, so my wife and I drove two and half hours to Tampa, where they played in the Amalie Arena, the same arena The Tampa Bay Lightning play hockey at. The sound was pretty good. Better than Lakeland, that’s for sure. I read a comment on a KZread video one time where a guy was saying he was going to see them soon and that his seats are stage left, second row, right under Geddy’s nose and some wise guy replied, “everyone out to the 24th row will be right under Geddy’s nose.”. I lol because it caught me off guard. Geddy has a great sense of humor, even about his nose. I have a theory that no human (and not one guy in Rush is human) can shred a bass like Geddy while singing difficult lead vocals and trigger samples with his feet, all simultaneously. That’s why I believe that Geddy has two more brains, one in each nostril? It’s a pretty sound theory when you think about it? Geddy’s a rail thin guy, so where else on his body does he have a massive amount of hollow space? I see no other way? No, Geddy is just a tremendously talented musician. I actually believe that Geddy is the most freakishly talented musician in the band. The man is amazing, but his greatest talent is his humility. Few people could be so loaded with talent and musical brilliance, yet act like he’s average or mediocre at best. The humility is something they all share and that floors me. You know it has to be genuine because no one could keep up that “Aww shucks, me?” act for more than 40 years. They are the real deal and only got into music for the sake of making great music. It’s not about fame or vanity, nor the money because there are a lot of less talented bands who have a much higher net worth than Alex, Geddy and Neil (RIP we love you Neil ❤️). They are rich for sure, but if they were greedy and also willing to sell out, they could be a lot richer. When I think of bands in it for money, I can’t help but have Kiss come to mind. Dolls, pinball machines, lunchboxes, posters, video games, etc…. I don’t have a problem with that, but I have more admiration for a group like Rush who are strictly about the music. Neil even used to run from the stage to his motorcycle or tour bus. He wanted no parts of fame.

@@duffer19 what are you talking about? I didn’t say this was from 1980, I said that the first concert I saw them was Permanent Waves, which was in 1980. I never missed a tour after that, so I know I had to be at this show because every show they ever had in central Florida, I was at. That means I must have been at this show too. From Permeant Waves to Hold Your Fire were at the Lakeland Civic Center. They never played in Orlando until Presto because Orlando didn’t have a civic center until then, so of course he wouldn’t have said Orlando in 1980, he would have said Lakeland, which is halfway between Orlando and Tampa and drew crowds from both towns. After Presto, every tour came through Orlando except Vapor Trails. For some reason they skipped Orlando for Vapor Trails and only came to Tampa, otherwise any other concert was at Orlando. The video even says 2008 on it, so of course Snakes and Arrows was not in 1980. Read a bit more carefully before writing. Yes, Permeant Waves was in 1980 and it was in Lakeland, not Orlando. Being off by a decade would make it either 1970 or 1990.

@@RoarOfWolverine My apologies -- you were off by TWO decades. This was Snakes/Arrows (2008ish?). Congrats on all the tours in the '80s (my favorite of any music/all time) -- that said, you should be able to recognize that this show was NOT 1988 and not part of HYF or Show of Hands tour. Either you have a serious case of Revisionist History or we are totally misunderstanding one another.

I'm somewhat disappointed. I thought Geddy was really playing the keyboard when they played this live, but this to me looked like he was just triggering some prerecorded midis. Hah. It still doesn't take away from my enjoyment as this is one of Rush's most beautiful songs, I just thought he played the actual keyboard parts live.
