As a bassist, the complexity of geddy's playing is just unexplainable, not only the main riff, which is ironically the easiest part of the song, but all the fills he does and percusions, this is just insane. The technic and rhythm he has are on a whole other level, what an amazing band.

I caught this one in E. Washington on the last show of the Time Machine tour, and I'm glad I did. As a lapsed Rush fanatic, I felt a bit guilty about my unfamiliarity with some of their mid-90s output, but Geddy soon erased all of that and exceeded my expectations once again. Rush was such a beast of a band.

Agreed, this and "Limbo" have a much deeper and more emotionally satisfying climax to me than "Where's My Thing?" does, and the two paired with "The Main Monkey Business" as a roller-coaster closer make for an amazing three-song mini- playlist.

The ending is possibly one of the most technically interesting things I have ever seen. Listen to the way Peart punctuates Geddy's solo, but not enough for it to be planned. Neil felt how that solo was going to play out, and gave Geddy certain accents, bars, cymbal crashes, etc in order to propel Geddy's solo. That's what gives that crescendo effect at the end. even during unplanned moments, these three still know how to position their dynamics to create a certain sound. Even the guitar scream at the end that transitions into the solo; all perfect. I love this band

Rush is perfection. I love the attention to details. I'm 33 years old and I discovered Rush when I was about 17. First song I listened was Limelight and I was like: what is this? I fell in love of how complex their music was and still is. The I listened to the Spirit of radio and Tom Sawyer. Everything you said is right not just with this song, is everything they do is so precise!!!! Btw the first cd I purchased was Different Stages because of a review in a car audio magazine haha.

I admire how Rush quietly amassed a huge discography and a legion of worldwide fans seemingly without interference from the music industry or the vagaries of popular culture. They maintained an independence and dedication to their artistic vision over a long career filled with the pitfalls of success and the challenges of working life. Rush set the bar almost impossibly high. This one performance alone demonstrates an excellence few bands even dare to achieve.

You can see it at 3:34 and notice when Geddy takes his foot off the background synth sound goes away. That's another thing a lot of people don't appreciate about Geddy Lee. He plays bass, synth pedals with his feet, and sings all at the same time. The guy is a monster.

Se extraña a Neil. Monstruos, dioses
As a bassist, the complexity of geddy's playing is just unexplainable, not only the main riff, which is ironically the easiest part of the song, but all the fills he does and percusions, this is just insane. The technic and rhythm he has are on a whole other level, what an amazing band.
Just here on a Rush binge after hearing of Neil's passing. One of the greatest bands ever. Period.

Thanks to Rush for being the soundtrack to my life for many decades.
This is the kind of music that kids should listen to during music lessons in high school.

He plays bass, synth pedals with his feet, and sings all at the same time. The guy is a monster.

Amazing Bass solo with Neil adding wicked beats for Geddy Awesome!!
Rest in peace legend, you will always be my musical hero
I love the craziness going on behind Geddy! Now, they can also express their brilliant sense of humor while blowing our minds with their music! How is it that the new stuff is just as awesome as the very best of their old stuff?? Geddy has truly come into his own! The guy just keeps getting better and better, even when you think he's already peaked! Then, he blows you away, again! He's incredible! He plays like it's a lead guitar! In a strong jazz style while Alex does rock lead. And it works!!
Ged going off time signature riffin makes this a masterpiece.
R.I.P Neil! you are an inspiration
Their musicianship was breathtakingly beautiful and precise at the same time. Nothing quite like will ever be seen again.
