Alberto Rivera ...Especially on a nylon string guitar, the way Lifeson played it on the original recording. Most guys would prefer to play it on an electric, like Lifeson does live, because the nylon string is far more difficult to play, especially fast like that. Nylon strings are less forgiving and have a tendency to roll, which rolls your fingers right off the string if you don’t hit it perfectly on target. I know because I’m a guitar player, been playing since I was 11 and am now 57. I always used a nylon sting guitar to play the intro. I used a stand that held the acoustic suspended so I could still have the Les Paul strapped on for a quick exchange. Lifeson used to use a similar stand for the intro for Closer To The Heart live. Great job Young man! You certainly have the talent for the guitar. Hope to see more from you.

Ive seen Rush 4 times in concert. This is the best version Ive seen or heard not done by Alex Lifeson. Fantastic version.

When a kid is that talented, really no need for a big brand name guitar, this kid can make a lower quality guitar sing and thats all that matters really. A better guitar won't make him play better, maybe just improve of quality of tone and even then thats fixable changing stock pickups for better quality ones.

I have an Epiphone Les Paul (Custom), and after a few minor adjustments (lowering the action, upgraded pickups, etc) - it may as well be a Gibson, for only 1/3 of the actual COST of a Gibson.

By far, the best guitar cover of this masterpiece on KZread. Others don't care nearly as much and seem to just want to jam the tune without even trying to hit the right notes. Still needs some work on the little nuances but not even RUSH themselves playing it live sound like on the album. Otherwise, something great was accomplished here.

This man is insane. True talent, but also insanely well nourished skill. The amount of practice to get to this level of expertise is fucking ungodly.

Dang. Just, DANG. I know this video has been out here for going on 7 years, every time I watch this I think "This kid just TOTALLY nails it". WELL done. I'm a guitarist (like most on here), and I can play MOST of the song, but not truly note-for-note and fluently. This was an accomplishment!

Progressive rock style of Rush are not easy to pull off with technique, tone and the whole 9 yards. Just amazing performance as I rank this as one of the very best Rush cover performances and they have been my favorite band since 1980. Not very short songs either so just having the stamina to stay strong through the whole piece is just awesome.

Don't ever stop playing, i took lessons from 8 to 12 set it down until 23 and set it down when i was 27 because life got in the way, house, children etc. I am retired now and it's never too late so this time I'm going to learn to REALLY play. You make me jealous in a way but more so i am happy for you, you grabbed your dream by the neck and you're doing something with it.
