Runrig - Loch Lomond (Year of The Flood DVD)

Музыка

Runrig perform their unofficial anthem, Loch Lomond live at Borlum Farm, Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness. This is an excerpt from their Year of the Flood DVD. This version is pretty much the same that got Runrig (Feat. The Tartan Army) to number 9 in the UK charts in 2007.
Lyrics:
By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes
Where the sun shines on Loch Lomond
Where me and my true love spent many days
On the banks of Loch Lomond
'Tis there that we parted in yon shady glen
On the steep sides of Ben Lomond
But a broken heart knows no second spring
So resigned we must be while were parting
So you take the high road and I'll take the low road
And I'll be in Scotland before you
Where me and my true love will never meet again
On the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond
Ho, ho mo leannan*
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach**
Ho, ho mo leannan
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach
Ho, ho mo leannan
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach
Ho, ho mo leannan
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach
Ho, ho mo leannan
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach
Ho, ho mo leannan
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach
Ho, ho mo leannan
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach
Ho, ho mo leannan
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach
Ho, ho mo leannan (You take)
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach (The high road)
Ho, ho mo leannan (And I'll take)
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach (The low road)
Ho, ho mo leannan (And I'll be)
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach (In Scotland)
Ho, ho mo leannan (Before)
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach (You)
Ho, ho mo leannan (Where me and my)
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach (True love)
Ho, ho mo leannan (Will never meet)
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach (Again)
Ho, ho mo leannan (On the bonnie bonnie)
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach (Banks of)
Ho, ho mo leannan (Loch Lo-)
Ho mo leannan bhoidheach (-mond)
You take the high road and I'll take the low road
And I'll be in Scotland before you
Where me and my true love will never meet again
On the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond
You take the high road and I'll take the low road
And I'll be in Scotland before you
Where me and my true love will never meet again
On the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond
You'll take the high road and I'll take the low road
And I'll be in Scotland before you
Where me and my true love will never meet again
On the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond (C'mon)
You take the high road and I'll take the low road
And I'll be in Scotland before you (You got it!)
Where me and my true love will never meet again
On the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond
On the bonnie bonnie banks
On the bonnie bonnie banks
On the bonnie bonnie banks
On the bonnie bonnie banks
On the bonnie bonnie banks
On the bonnie bonnie banks
On the bonnie bonnie banks
On the bonnie bonnie banks

A friend, Rob Hunter from St Boswells, who used to fell trees from my trucking days in 1969, when I carried timber from the Scottish borders - mainly to Wigan to be made into pit props, told me about them. Like my youth, all gone now. I think they're great, I watch and don't want the songs to end! Brilliant, thank you!

I played their first album on my hospital radio show. I was there at Drum about 20 miles from home.. They are a womderfull group, I hope you have a lot of enjoyment going through their back catalogue and all the amazing material that is appearing on-line since 2018.. Try some of their ballads.. They have quite a range of music - to suit all moods.. and it may sound corny - but tell a friend.. I'm on a campaign to turn the whole world to Runrig facing..

@@johngrafton729 Hi John, I'm mike from Germany. I first heard a song by Runrig in the early 80's. I was on the motorway with my truck when a song was played on the radio that immediately captivated me. I did not know the name of the song or the group that sang it. But I couldn't get that song out of my head. So I called the radio station and asked for the name of the group and the song. It was "LOCH LOMOND" by RUNRIG ! Since that time I'm a big fan of the group RUNRIG. I bought all CD's and DVD's from them and I went to many concerts. I am currently in the process of translating all titles of the band from Gaelic/English into German.

4.24 - Frysian Flag, Northern part of The Netherlands. So nice to see so many different nationalities united in love for great music. That is so awesome. I did recognise more flags ofcourse, but since I live in Frysland I enjoyed seeing our flag among so many others. Awesome when fantastic music is able to unite instead of diverse, and Runrig really succeeded in that. Thanks guys, great job. ;)
