Runningonair - QY (Music Video)

QY is born out of an experiment to create a Synthwave track using only the Yamaha QY10 sound module as a sound source. The track was released earlier in 2022 on the album B.A.U., which you can find here:

The QY10 was released in 1990 and I therefore wanted the video to reflect that with film from the same time. The game video is from Outrun (1986), which has been cited as a Synthwave influence but it also fits well with the driving video.

It's still quite a bit of fun and as you can see in the video, I'm pretty useless at it.

It sounds very similar to the one in the Edirol HyperCanvas VSTi from the early 2000s.

@@RunningonairMusic It's excellent and very low powered CPU required; can be found in various places online. Edirol is just a Roland brandname (retired a few years ago). My preference is Yamaha mainly but Roland have some great gear too.

No, just presets. Well on the 10 at least.
