Been listening to these guys since 1988, bought the farewell t-shirt at Wacken 2009,....I was wrong about thinking they were through. Even though it has been Rock',n'Rolf for the most part after that. Port Royal stands as a monument to me, all the years after I heard it as a 10 year old kid! It may not be perfect to critical ears, but what do I care. To this day I can have it on repeat, and go back in time. It can't be replicated in today's music. Feeling and melody all the way baby!

I guess it was my 3rd concert ever as a kid, age about 16 or 17...still have great memories and the ticket framed and the tour shirt..still in use 🤟😋 Musik Theater, Kassel, Germany

At 0:40 that's me and my buddies at 17. My dad, a now retired teacher, covered me skipping afternoon classes in school (!) and drove the three of us 40 kilometers to Düsseldorf where the gig was held. We got to watch the band film their music video for Bad to the Bone (they shot it before the actual show in the empty hall and the crowd was later edited in from the live concert footage). In the break we got to talk to the band members, they were some nice everyday people with no allures at all. Rolf was mostly interested in my dad's hobby of building electrical guitars by himself. And playing them of course. Obviously my dad wasn't only there as some kind of taxi driver, he wanted to see and hear the band playing live. He got into hard rock and heavy metal in the late sixties / early seventies with Ten Years After, Deep Purple, Uriah Heeep and the like. Over the years apart from several Running Wild shows we have seen together a lot of great bands - Metallica, Motörhead, Saxon, Manowar, Alice Cooper to mention just a few and still today I enjoy making music with my dad - he's 75 now but still rocking! Sorry for bothering you with my story but I've come to realize how rare and precious it is to share this musical taste with your parent and just felt like telling...

Best drummer they ever had. Really it's a mystery to me why the hell did he leave the band. Stefan is awesome as well but...Finlay, the best they ever had. Something has gone south for sure....they didn't even mentioned him on the credits....not cool.

Yes the bass tone on Port Royal is flawless. That bass tone was the main reason I learn to play bass. As for Jens i thik he is a bit bussy guy maybe if he will find time he will reply. It would be awesome to know what gear he used on that album. As for now thanks again and cheers Mate.
