I agree Addie has the perfect voice and this was everything I wanted for a remake of this song! That being said the 80s video is awesome but this darker then reflects the song better but that’s my own opinion

what impresses me is not that she can match Kate Bush pretty well. Its, how *effortlessly* she does that. Addie may, without exaggeration, be one of the most versatile singers I've ever heard.

I lost my mom just over a year ago and she always loved this song as it reminded her of her mom,now it reminds me of all the love and joy she gave me in life and I will forever remember this song. Absolutely stunning

I’m sorry for the loss of your mother. A bit off the subject here. When I first heard this song as a preteen in 1985, all I cared is that it’s a great song, because it sounds awesome! As I grew older, and I found out what this song is really about (Kate & her then boyfriend in her band), to me the lyrics of this song makes this song so powerful. For me, this song reminds me of wishing God would let me switch places with every single classmate from all the schools I went to in life, so they know how I hurt I feel when they all treated me badly. For you, this song reminds you of your mom. RIP to your mother 😪🙏

I lost my dad on his birthday in 2020, then thanksgiving morning I got woke up to a phone call saying my mom was gone, to top that off, my mom's birthday was Easter this yearand my sister-in-law passed on that day , I feel your pain, my only advice I can give is to keep pushing on,

@@fknsupa I don't think this group do any piggybacking of anyones fame as they've made a great name for themselves in their own right. Unfortunately the only way to get noticed in this era of social media and survive is to keep up with the trends of the world. I'd say this is more following the explosion of the series itself than the song in particular.

@@fknsupa bro.. the point of covering a song, is to cover it, and that includes the decision to put your own unique twist on it, WHICH also includes changing the genre. That's what makes a cover special, because it's their own unique style and impersonation of that song. They can make it appeal to a different audience. calm down holy shit, nobodys piggybacking, they're just expressing their musical talent and covering a song they like.

A great cover of this. Man, the music and climax of the song just hit me like a ton of bricks. Such a powerful and sad song. Great vocals and playing too people. I’m such a big fan of you guys. Can’t wait to hear more from you all. Maybe a Canadian tour sometime? 🇨🇦

I know this song is becoming popular again because of Stranger Things, I personally haven't seen it because it's not my kind of show. But I've always been a huge fan of the Placebo version that they did with Kate Bush. And I feel this hits similar. I love it.

TBH I only heard the placebo version years ago, I think from Vampire Diaries and didn't know it was a cover until stranger things last week. 😳 But I am loving this version by Halocene.

My favorite version of this song was by Meg Myers. This version was very good as well but Meg's voice is so passionate.

That was probably one of the most unique covers of this song I have heard - and I have been a Kate Bush fan for 30 years. You really put your own stamp on it and made it Halocene. I'm gonna have to listen to it a few more times because it really is so different. It's impressive.

The song is amazingly haunting, and love how the video came out. Sometimes I end up preferring a cover to the original, and this is one of those.

I've been a little late getting to Season 4 of Stranger Things, but this just fits the vibe so well. Well done! Video is amazing as well - feels like the Underside!

I have to say, I've never heard of Kate Bush before now. The vocalist I usually associate this song with is Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation. My reaction to this cover was, whiney and out of sync with the emotional both in Stranger Things and Kate Bushes song. It is a demonstration of goth rock power, but not at all the haunting drums, the beat, the drive in Kate's voice. It is heavy, slow, and a singer cought up in her self.

I will still say the break through, haunting drums of the original version works better for the Stranger Things' setting; breaking through to the girl over taken by Vecna. Perhaps the main part, it was her favorite song. All covers I have heard of this song slows down the tempo quite a bit, might say someting about times now more than anything else.

Music can be a transformative medium for a variety of people. Whether you're going through a bereavement, generalised emotional highs and lows, or some other strife, the effects music has on people is palpable and easily seen even from the most superficial of glances. As is right now I'm so emotionally tired and burned out right now, sometimes a good song is the only reason I continue walking forwards.

I can’t believe the one time in about six years I’m not in Tennessee (for an out of state physical therapy program; it’s life changing!) you guys are touring and coming right to the area I frequent! Uggghhhh!!! I know I’m doing what I’m supposed to, that I’ll be healthier and happier for doing this, and better able to finish college and work on getting to be a mom. But I do wish I could see you!!! Rock on! I’m not a huge fan of the original song, but you really made me fall in love with this! It’s so atmospheric, YET I can actually understand what you’re saying. 😂 And I love the sound of the drums. Then when Brad comes in and all the intensity comes in, wow! My only wish is that it was longer! I’ve had Repent and Mirror (and of course Vita Nova) on repeat the last few weeks but this is being added to the rotation as soon as I get my paws on it!
