My mom is a survivor of sexual, physical, and mental abuse. She was molested by various family members as a child, and was called a liar when trying to speak up about it. I wrote "Repent" for her, and for others out there who have experienced abuse. I hope that this song gives you some kind of comfort in knowing you are not alone.

I was close..... To suicide last night. Then I had a dream where I was dressed in white, crying to the lord for help.. when I woke up, I got a call from a lifeline number, which has never happened.. I spoke with a lady who guides me through my sadness and after that I called a local church, I am going this Sunday..

I'm crying. My father was abusive in many ways so I had to leave the nest before I was ready to, and now I fear for my mum everyday she's still there - because she lies to protect him and tries to brush it under the rug. This song Addie, so powerful. Kudos to the actors and director who captured living this hell so accurately.

I'm not sure I have the right words to describe how hard this hits home. That echoing fade of the scream at the end just makes it hit home all the harder.

This gave me chills and goosebumps. People forget these days that music is about storytelling and expressing emotions. They just make stupid, meaningless songs that you forget in a few days. This song is amazing, the message is amazing, the vocals from Addie and Brad are amazing. Well done guys👏🏼

Oh my God . My father was a horrible man . 20 plus yrs after he passed away he had power over me . I remember everything to the T . This hit home big time and until we were old enough to defend ourselves and our mother he never laid a hand on us again but still abused us mentally n spiritually . I know it's over but still . Every day I'm healing and taking the power back .

As a male victim of sexual, physical and emotional violence throughout his life, it's a damned good song already without the context which only adds gravity to the power of the vocal lyric. Remarkable talent, remarkable stories all around. You're not alone, you're not twisted or damaged goods, your demons become chains that drag you down. Release yourself through whatever method you feel is right as long as the cycle of abuse ends with yourself. I refuse to become a link in someone else's chains, mine weigh heavily enough on my soul as is.

It doesn't matter how many times I listen to this song: I still feel the overwhelming need to cry. The lyrics in this song...they definitely hit home. I was raped at 18 and even now at age 33, I still have majority of it blacked out. I'm so sorry about what happened to your mom, Addie. <3 Thank you for putting this song out there!

this song is great. it also reminded me of something that happened a long time ago. I had a very abusive ex, who thought violence was a way to express love for someone and she broke the very fabric of me. to this day I still feel those effects. but what hit the hardest was "and the worst part is I forgive, say its fine" as that was exactly how I felt at the time, that it was normal for a relationship to be like that. this is a very powerful song and between this & the mirror I feel very connected to these songs.

I really like the story in this one. How it shows punishment by law instead of by vengeance. Feels good to be reminded you don't

Reading Addie's story about her mum had me in tears. I wish it didn't strike so close to home, especially how she was considered to be the one in the wrong. Absolutely gorgious song, so strong, and a video to match. You knocked it out of the park with this one guys and I appreciate that so much.
