This is SPOT ON. You impersonate Amy's style so good that I started to smile in the very first few seconds of the video. She would sing this one EXACTLY like this LoL. Talented and beautiful, way to go.

No matter how you feel about Nickelback (I enjoy myself some songs greatly) this is an absolutely beautiful cover. Very haunting and sorrowful to my ears.

@@treasurewuji8740 the nickelback hate is one of the most fascinating trends on the internet to me. I never truly understood its origin and I probably never will understand its purpose. By the way, Nickelback is a pretty cool band if you ask me.

I am a mega Ev fan (a shocker, right 😏 ) and although I don't necessarily see Evanescence-like arrangement of the song I think this is how this song should've sounded originally. What a freakin' great rendition. You made the song that kinda annoyed me, into something I would listen on repeat (and I probably will). You are unbelievably talented, and the registers throughout the entire song suit you perfectly. So I thought, maybe doing a cover of My Heart Is Broken would sound amazing (but please do it on your own, no collabs ). Again, thanks again and 'till next amazing cover - rock on girl 🤘❤

This would fit pretty well on an album with Hello. The difference in the sound mostly comes from the fact that Violet has a deeper voice than Amy Lee.

This definitely has Evanescence feel, especially with earlier albums from them.

I've definitely clowned on Nickelback before but some of their songs slap so hard it isn't hard to imagine why they got so popular "These five words in my head scream 'are we having fun yet?'" is a really powerful line that I really couldn't appreciate as a kid

​@@ivanlp4everI tend to agree with the post after yours, they never changed much and seemed awful consistent, haters just seemed to flip the narrative about the time their Rockstar song came out... Which is pretty ironic. About 2-4 bangers per album and the rest pretty take it or leave it with some nice coverage of more niche aspects of their music they did pretty well.

This rendition almost made me cry. It's beautifully made and sung. Props to both Violet and Jonathan for making a masterpiece.

This is amazing! Very beautiful. And also such a good illustration of how much style influences the artistic expression of a genre song. This cover sounds so much more expressive and less cliché than Nickelbacks original, because it does not fit the stereotypical: "Long heared, leather jacket guy, singing with guitar about losing a woman" cliché.

I grew up with this song, literally. I’ve listened to it 1,000 times in so many different ways. This has to be my favorite so far.

The reinterpretation I didn't know I needed. A different vibe to the original but really SO good and intense. Painful but strong. Amazing! It kinda helps breathing. Much love to you 💙

First: this is an amazing cover and I just discovered you and your music 5 minutes ago but holy shit. Second: I listened to a LOT of Evanescence in my formative singing years to the point that I kinda unconsciously strove to sound like Amy Lee and this cover is how I feel when I sing along in the car to rock songs.

A woman after my own heart. Combining two of my favorite bands from back in my high school days. Great work as always Violet.

If Amy Lee and Peter Steele had a child, and Kurt Cobain was the uncle that loved his niece like his own daughter... The result would be Violet Orlandi. Phenomenal cover as always Violet.

Absolutely amazes me how Violet is able to re-work iconic songs and breathe a whole new wonderful life into them. Certainly, an homage to the original artists while also displaying the superb musicianship and professionalism of Violet and her fellow musicians. Violet, you are a gift to the world!

I love both Evanescence and Nickelback, so this mashup is smth next level. Just wow.

I discovered your music through the collaboration with Halocene/first to eleven/Lauren Babic doing the Bohemian Rhapsody cover, all 4 of you girls have amazing voices and I've loved your music ever since! You turned this song into a masterpiece.

I love this for many, many reasons, but the fact that even her gestures are empowering raises the music to another level

Sick cover! I'm not quite sure I hear Evanescence, though. To me, it sounds more like you just put your own unique spin on the song, but I love that...I'd listen to your version five times before I'd listen to five second of the original. 😎🤘

Yeah I think for this to be more Ev style, it would be best as a slow piano ballad. There are a few things that could have been done better, but it was still a great cover.

If you listen close, shes doing a lot of the same sort of vocal techniques that Amy used off the "Fallen" album. The way she emphasizes certain parts of a word, the kind of whispery oooohs, and so on. Its still in her own voice though, so that might be throwing it off for you, but the style has that sort of operatic/lullaby goth rock vibe that Amy brought to the table.

No one better than Amy, but this is very good.

Yo, I love my underground gritty black metal, funeral doom and DSBM as much as the next music snob. But I grew up with Nickelback and still love the shit out of that band. You absolutely nailed this in every way possible and the rendition is perfect. There's a particular nostalgic feel to the early 2000's (everybody has nostalgia from whatever era they come from), and somehow you were able to capture every good part of it. Very well done.

I love the unique emotional texture you brought to the song. My favorite is at 1:09 and again at 1:55 (this time repeatedly) - the tremendous juxtaposition of the impatient, annoyed "Are we having fun yet. Yet yet yet" call and the denial that you would even consider that in your presentation of the "No! No!" answer. And then one more time for the closing. Your musical interpretation turns these simple lyrics into major emotional highlights. Powerful, memorable outstanding interpretation!

This was great, just absolutely lovely! I grew up in the 80s and 90s and was a HUGE fan of Nickelback's original albums like Curb, Hesher and The State. Silver Side Up was decent, too, but this song wasn't the best on the album, in my opinion. You made it amazing! Would you ever consider doing Too Bad from the same album? That song resonated so hard with me as a kid because I was abused. If you don't have the time, I understand, but no harm in asking. Thank you for all the quality content you constantly put out!

I absolutely love this version, I would call it more of a soft Violet version rather than an Evanesence version. doesnt have the ethereal operettic teasing sound to it nor does it have the hard electronic base drives Evanesence throws in occasionally to their songs to give it peaks leading back into Amy's singing. I would hold this up as YOUR version and be very proud of what you've done. cause this is a very cool version, tied with the original version only thing that would make me choose one or the other would be purely mood.
