Ok, a much more melancholic cover. Mad respect for a guy who complains a bout trashy movies like Thor 4 to be able to sing like this. I Have a Friend that literally struggles walking up hills among other problems and she was infatuated with the Strange thing scene that used this song... I really don't care for the show since Season 1 was too slow and can barely understand kate's singing from when she showed me the scene... But I can grasp the lyrics from a you, from a male perspective, it cuts deep now. Bravo, Saved cause it is making me emotional. thanks for this.

Weirdly my singing voice picked up a slight Irish lilt *years* ago. I think it’s faded a bit now. But there are some sounds and syllables that are forced to change to match rhythm etc, so it actually takes more effort to keep your speaking accent while singing.

Found you though your reviews, this is my FAVORITE version of this song! the song has a very somber feel to the lyrics that i feel got lost in the Kate Bush, Placebo, or Meg Myers version due to over production/ heavy synth. this stripped down version gives the lyrics room to breath, stand, fall to their knees in the loss

I’d suggest writing poetry and/or screenplays, yet given the erudite literary allusions adumbrated in many of Little Platoon’s preambles, I suspect you’ve anticipated me on this one…In any case, you have talent. Take it from a nerdy professor of Renaissance non-dramatic literature, if that still means anything…

Coming from "Thor: Love and Thunder - This Film Hates You" and how much shade you threw at yourself there, I expected something... but not his. It's wonderful. I love this song. Kate Bush, Within Temptation and over a decade later Stranger Things. Your rendition is beautiful, and the first male cover of it that I like. And knowing that it's also _your_ piano in support makes me love it even more. It touched me. Don't throw shade at it. It's wonderful.

I am seldom “sincere,” yet just this once, Platoon, I have to say this is truly a beautiful rendition of one of my childhood favourite songs….If, perchance, you ever performed near me, I could quite possibly feel motivated to put down my copy of *PARADISE LOST* (teaching it in my seminar this fall); get my languid self moving about; and attend. You are, delightfully surprisingly, worth it!

The way you managed to avoid the cringe indie "accent" while singing in a similar style and having an actual accent is majorly impressive. Actually, the fact that you sing the words so clearly makes this stand out. I know nothing about singing but it sounds like you've got really good vocal control(?). I mean, singing softly, articulately, and keeping a good sound can't be easy but it does sound easy and it's definitely effective. I only followed this channel because you mentioned a possible revamp on the She Hulk video and I love your essay content but now I'd also be very interested to hear you make more music. I doubt you'll see this (and if you do I'm sincerely sorry for the word vomit) but on the off chance that you do, would you ever be interested in looking more into the music side of filmmaking? You mentioned it in your Rings of Power video (and others irrc) but not really explored it. Though I suppose KZread is a massive bitch about music copyright so I'd understand why you'd avoid it altogether. That's neither here nor there though, this is a lovely cover and I'd really love to hear what you can do as you become more confident as a vocalist

Thanks! To be honest - and though there’s a fairly long section on leitmotif in the next RoP video - I’m just not knowledgeable enough to do dedicated videos on music theory/production. I'm sure you hear the roughness more than most listeners. Having taken almost a decade of classical piano and music theory I can hear some of the minor bumps I know I'd be kicking myself for. But you have to recognize that like 99% of people will never notice any of that. Very solid rendition. I also like the minimalist aspect of it with just the piano and vocals.

Easily my favorite rendition of this song. You cut out all of the EXTRA that was in the original, and while the EXTRA wasn't necessarily bad, I feel like pulling it away made this song much more melancholy? And genuine? So awesome. This is beautiful. I adore this. You actually made me feel it. I’ve heard this song so many times by many but honestly never truly felt it. It’s often so over powered by background or the lyrics difficult to understand. Making the power of it get lost. Thank you for sharing this. I grew up singing, music is my life and I believe part of our soul. There are so many people with amazing voices, amazing talent but they don’t feel the music. If you can’t understand and feel it truly, you can’t express it and it won’t touch others hearts. You Sir have that gift. I found you from Drinkers live, just checked out your review on the little mermaid and caught you saying you sing higher than a girl lol.. well that caught me off guard and after you spoke of the holler silently trick my interest was peaked. I’m glad I checked to see what other channels you have and happily found this. I do hope you continue to do covers and hopefully one day your own music. Best wishes

Nice effort Platoon, a very enjoyable cover, I really prefer your lone piano approach compared to all the techno nonsense of the original - which tends to hide the beauty of the lyrics.
