Great job! Early in the year too with less daylight. I done a solo run at the end of May this year. Left the hotel at Milngavie, had a pal meet me at Drymen and I picked up a fresh bag of food, then headed up to the Fort to finish the job. That long section that goes past the old cottage a bit north of Glencoe sucked up so much of my time, I just wasn't used to running on all that loose stone and rock! I wonder how many of us done solo trips like this in a year? I bet there's not a lot of folk do it? I fueled myself on water from all the taps on the way up, and on trek bars and naked bars. I was hoping to get something hot and salty at Tyndrum, but they didn't have anything. It was a really hot day and I could have done with something solid, salty and hot. I had to grab some bags of salt and dump them on my bars as I ate them.. :) Anyway, great job, and thanks for posting this account. A well executed and planned long run!

Just seen this on Yammer. I was chuffed that I could do this in 5 days, what you achieved was absolutely epic. Very inspiring for me to lose some weight and get back out, I think I will stick to the walking though. Well done

Amazing run this. Have the WHW on my list but probably just walk it over a few days.

Boy that brought back memories from doing the race, though different times of day. Skirting around Loch Lomond in the dark would have been tough! Thanks for posting

Well done, how did you find the bit along the banks of loch lomond in the dark, I've walked the WHW and that bit was treacherous underfoot (lots of scrambling) in the daylight!

Aye, pretty slow going along that stretch! I started 7pm on the Friday night rather than the usual 1am start for the actual race. That being said, guessing you have to slow at that section to some degree regardless of light/dark!
