My West Highland Way

This is my West Highland Way. A 96 mile trek, and I completed it in 6 days. Camping the whole way.
It was a great adventure, but not for the faint hearted! If you have any questions, please put them in the comments and I'll try and get back asap. Enjoy!

A slightly belated comment with thanks for posting this Jamie. I really enjoyed it in terms of the content and the high quality of your production. I've done the Way a few times and one useful tip for people to note relates to something that you noticed. There were a lot of people at Beinglas on the Tuesday night and elsewhere on other nights even though you weren't walking in high season. One reason for this is that there is a bulge in numbers every week. Because of the way that our working lives are organised most people start the WHW (and other longer trails) at the weekend which means there is a bulge in the numbers heading north, putting pressure on facilities and accomodation. If their schedule allows I really strongly recommend that people start on Tuesday or Wednesday so you are part of a much smaller cohort making your way along the trail. It makes life much easier.

Just enjoyed your video to revisit and relive the WHW. I finished last friday in 9 days and you are right, the weather makes all the differece. I camped the whole way and had much rain all the time, hailstorms and galeforce winds the last three days. It was brutal, espacially the parts where you are all exposed from Rannoch moore onwards. But nonetheless it is an experience of a lifetime ad I would do it all over again! Have a good time and safe travels!

Hi! You're not aloud to Wild camp along Loch Lomond, so probably a good idea to book a campsite along that part. I managed it without booking any other campsites, I just rocked up and got a space every evening. Although I can imagine if you go in the mid summer it could get very busy. Also, the campsites are all "wild enough" to still have a great experience. Have a great trip!
