CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Danny (Billy Crystal) and Ray (Gregory Hines) are confronted by two muggers, who are surprised to learn that their "victims" are cops.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Distinguished by a sharp, witty dialogue between its two cop protagonists, Ray and Danny (Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal), this entertaining crime drama is well worth a visit. Ray and Danny are nearly blown away by super bad guy Julio (Jimmy Smits), and their boss is peeved at them as usual. So the two are given a holiday from their beat in Chicago and travel to the sunny shores of Key West. They like it enough to retire from police work and open a business there. But when the duo returns to the Windy City, Julio is about to pull off a big drug deal and retirement may not be such a good idea.

I love how this movie is grungy and gritty yet not dull or dated-looking!
Always loved this movie when it first came out. RIP Gregory Hines.
This is my favorite movie of all time. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Gregory Hines down the village in NYC. He was the most kind, gentle soul there was. I will never forget that smile of his. Totally infectious. He tapped away from us and looked back and smiled. He's always in my heart.

Thanks, JC, for pointing that out. A lot of people don't know that Gregory and Billy in the movie "Running Scared" were the original Black/White cop buddy cops. Before there were Riggs and Murtaugh in "Lethal Weapon" (Year: 1987), there was Ray and Danny in " Running Scared" (Year: 1986) a year earlier. R.I.P. Gregory Hines....

@Dac Tucker Not really. Because Edsie wasn't a cop. He was a convict. It's the same. So by if nothing else but default, Running Scared is the first white/black buddy cop film. 48 hours was the first white/black buddy team up film that was a success. And I agree that it's a classic, but so is Running Scared!

that's called the weaver stance, it was an old cop thing they did back then, the idea being by squatting down and locking your arms and your elbows together, it would pull your head down more in line with the sights to help your sight acquitizition, and allow the body to absorb the recoil better by locking and bracing the body against it nowadays they just stand up straight, and relax the arms, so if your on a slippery surface, you dont fall over
"You're under arrest, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.... You have a right to a continental breakfast and a beverage of your choice down at the police precinct" 😂😂😂 He just had no shits left to give lol
The should have given Joe Pantoliano the same hairdo in the Sopranos as he had here. lmfao
This was a nice 80s “B” movie. Crystal and Hines did a great job.

The best time remembering my brother is watching this movie again. I remember laughing so hard watching this movie!
I accidentally watched this in the 90's. I was so delighted. Gregory and Billy had awesome chemistry, it looks like they enjoyed themselves.
SUCH a funny movie. One of my all time favorites. Great chemistry between Billy and Gregory!
I really enjoyed this movie...would love to see it again...

Criminally underrated movie. There should have been a sequel or a TV comedy based on these characters. Or maybe it's better there wasn't.
I never noticed before but notice how the guy in the delivery truck just stands there as bullets fly and he's directly in the line of fire? lol

As a cop this is the most realistic scene I’ve seen. Yes, the banter seems over the top but everything else is pretty much 24/7 here in Aspen Colorado
