That is because it is a brand new organization trying to meld two rulesets and not piss everyone off in the process. The Rules have changed in one way or another in every KOTT event so far. And once it hits US soil you will see more changes yet. The rules will adapt to please the market that is making the money.

Can we PLEASE just go back to the way it was, when Monster Michael Todd was allowed to hang his elbow off the back of the pad, and use his forearm bones to gas out his opponents effortlessly and just wait for them to be drained and take the easy pin? We desperately need to get back to that greatness. WAL 403, the pinnacle of arm wrestling.

@@khidhrhalab3543 The problem with that is whose rules do you choose. In the last 20 years the rules and how they are applied vary drastically from NA and EU. So if we use EU rules NA pullers are disadvantaged and if we use NA rules EU pullers are at an disadvantage. Both KOTT and EvW are trying to balance to two, it isn't an easy task.

I feel like fouls are part of the sport somewhat. Its hard to say what a loosing position is sometimes especially for certain guys. I do sort of like the concept of the foul system you brought up. So the person is forced to either foul over and over and loose or they have to win and restart the match. Its a really cool concept which is going to make a huge difference for a lot of people. Its really hard to tell what gives an advantage or not because all fouls in some way change the advantage a bit.

WAL if you foul you need to pin for a restart, the person fouled against can foul or lose for a restart AW if you foul you need to pin for a restart, if the person fouled against fouls the match is live again. The problem with running fouls is that it introduces an extra layer of complication to the game. This adds more pressure on the referees who are already having a tough time calling things correctly even with a simpler system. I agree that without the running fouls you can do a professional foul to escape a potential loss, but that benefit is enjoyed by both athletes and you can do it only once per round. Also you can do a professional running foul to gain a huge advantage when you are about to lose. What is the point of allowing the match to continue then?

Irakli's foul against John in the middle rounds at EvW was one of the most blatant I've seen, and John's reaction said it all. Was shaping up to be a great battle but Irakli got the restart.

Just have the running foul but 2 fouls per round. If you get called on a runner you option are. -Fight for the pin to get a restart. - Don’t go for the pin but defend to an eventual loss. Make your opponent work. - commit another foul and be done with it. Giving 3 fouls just gives the offender an easy out.

Making your opponent work is still your opponent's choice under a proper running fouls system. They can lay down or foul for the restart or try to get the pin.

yeah we wouldn't want any winner because there is foul and we didn't see it or just ignore it! if you win in a clean way then that's to be proud off

Hey Devon so what happens in a match if you get 2 fouls? Do you need to get back to back pins that then be able to get a win??

A small local tournament I entered soured my view on refs. having too much power over the pull. I'm a classic toproller. Post and pronate strong, peel the fingers and wrist back, if they slip, do it again, but in the straps. Match 1: I end up pulling a short and stocky hook puller. I post and pronate and he loses his wrist and bails underneath. I was called for an intentional slip and given a foul, which even he agreed afterward was crazy. The second round goes the exact same way. I peel him open and he bails underneath. I lose the first round and go to the loser's bracket. Match 2 (First match in losers bracket): I'm just way stronger than the guy (No offense to him, since he's only 17 and 50lbs. lighter), so I was able to pin him just using a side pressure and congratulate the guy for having the cojones to step up against men 2x his size. Match 3 (2nd match in losers bracket to advance to winners): The guy is strong, keeps pulling me all over the place while getting our grips. Ref. says nothing except take your grips for like 3 minutes straight. Eventually I let him have what he wants and when they say go I blast back and pronate and he literally lets go and I GET FOULED for intentional slipping again. Now I have a dilemma...toproll, guy lets go and I lose OR I can go into a hook with a guy that is a much better hooker than I am. Well since I didn't want to lose an entire tournament on fouls, I decided to try to hook the guy and it was closer than I thought, but he had too much for me in a hook. PS: I don't believe these guys even had a strap because I never saw one and every slip was called as an intentional foul. Personally I don't believe these guys should have been running even a small armwrestling tournament and I told them as much. (Now I'm banned...and I don't care.) Also there was only one weight class. Guys from 350lbs down to 170 were put against each other. I'm 225 and had to pull the 170 teenager and felt sorry for him. To add insult to injury, the promoter and ref was the older brother of the eventual winner overall and 2nd place was his uncle. Long story short: I went to a poorly (or possibly corrupt) AWing tourney and felt cheated. Even if the entry fee was only $20, traditional AWing rules weren't enforced and a lot of bogus fouls were called leading to the organizers brother and uncle winning 1st and 2nd place. PSS: They also shut down their FB page shortly after this because so many people were complaining after they uploaded videos of the matches.

I agree, a foul is a foul. Can't leave the motive of the foul up to interpretation. I also don't like seeing what's clearly an intentional foul to restart the match. However, I don't blame the pullers for doing it. Because those are the rules. But those rules should change.

I've been waiting for this video for a long time. Stoppage fouls make zero sense to me. At this level of the sport, every match and how it unfolds from the ready-go is important; and the stoppage foul only hurts the person who has the advantageous position. Running fouls allow a match to unfold the way it was meant to. Stoppage fouls are like TV breaks for armwrestling. Nobody enjoys them except for the competitor using it as a cop-out.

Unrelated question: if your opponent has their arm all the way to the front of their pad and still can’t get their webbing equal to their opponents, is it their opponents responsibility to in some way lower their webbing by either backing up their elbow or lowering their hand angle? Not singling you out, I feel like this is an issue across the board that hasn’t been addressed effectively.

Agreed. Running foul is meant to continue the match and not let people intentionally foul to get a restart.

What about a minor running foul and a major running foul? Minors would be no advantage gained which would allow the round to go live again after certain time like armwars where a major foul would result in having to win the round for a restart instead of a stop foul

Hey Devon. I have a specific question: A couple of times you have talked about strenghtening joiunts, recovery and about the whole stem cell topic. Since im more of an injury prone type regarding my wrists (which sucks a lot since they are crucial to get stronger) while lifting (not extreme!) weights or doing sports in general, i am EXTREMELY interested in how you as an experienced armwrestler move around injuries and how long you guys heal & recover, how you guys strenghtening not only muscles (thats the "easier" part) but tendons, joints, ligaments and so on..im talking about all those things, that heal wayyy longer than any muscles do. Also i am interested about "joint supplements" like collagen and all things you can do on the sideline to get healthier joints. Last but no least, some more content about the whole stem cell topic would be awesome too, even tho it seems like very expensive at the moment. Since you armwrestling guys are training, working and fighting with your wrists for years and such an intensity and have such an special knownledge about those things, i would be more than THANKFUL to get some insightful knownledge. The orthopedic docs (wrist "specialists"...) i have visited, were not really helpful on that matter, sadly. I dont want to hear "just stop doing sports" or 0815 stuff anymore. I know that there are ways, to progress slowly and healthy, especially in terms of strengtening joints and tendons. I just wannt learn the best way to do this. Again, this would mean the world to me and maybe this would help a LOT OF GUYS & GIRLS out there, that are fascinated by this sport or sport in general, but are kind of hesitating because of pain, injuries or "weak joints". A video would be super cool! I would even pay for that to be honest. Thank you very much and please keep going with the contet. I am enjoying this channel a lot. :)
