It's because he's on the same gear probably. I wonder, how the match would go if they were on the same gear and weight was also the same. Same with Levan vs Devon. Matches would be very different if other guys were on the same gear as Levan and they'd also always fight at the same weight, not Levan 50kg heavier than his opponents.

Ermes put forth a tremendous effort, and in my book, if at the end of the match, even after a loss you are smiling and your opponent is breathing through an oxygen mask, you can claim a small victory. But the level of praise he received after losing demonstrates the next level Levan has reached.

if levan loses fat, he will lose, since weight pressure is an essential guarantee of his victory. Really hope Ermes doesn't increase his pancake diet and stay decently healthy, he always says he doesn't want to get much more weight, we don't want another Levan or prime Denis! This is actually my first arm wrestling night i watched with a friend who get used to. I'm so blessed to have witnessed that and entering into arm wrestling interests as well

I cannot imagine how Ermes' arm must have felt a couple days after this match... The fact that he did so well against Levan is UNREAL, but man, his wrist and Elbow must have killed him after this match... The angles were scary, god damn!!!

I have just witnessed an absolutely dreadful ruling error in this great contest that will destroy the integrity of this great sport if it is not dealt with immediately. In round 5, Ermes twice got Levan on the defensive and was about to push home the win and what did levan do...his elbow slipped off the pad and the ref stopped the match with a Levan saving elbow foul. This happened twice and the second time, Levan was allowed to sit down, rest and suck on oxygen to regain his strength. This will now become a professional tactic...as soon as you are about to lose, just 'accidentally' pull your elbow off the pad, have a sit down, have a break and have another go. Total and utter disaster for arm wresting.

It goes to show you that Levan didn't show up at his best here and when he destroys Devon 4-0 at E v W on April 20th, there will be no excuses on my side as a Levan fan if he loses, but oooooooh boyyy I can smell 4-0 absolute sweep and flash pins galore. I wonder how many people will notice that the commentator's actually said Levan is in a King's Move. Watch 5th round and imagine holding the most powerful guy + 200kg of his bodyweight hanging on Ermes's hand but he's fuc_in killing it I think Levan wanted to take the forfeit loss rather than officially get pinned. Real controversy starts from round 3 & middle of round 5 where Levan fouled in losing position. Ermes could have easily won round 3 & 5. Then round 6 would have become epic. The difference is, Those earlier fouls favoured Levan when Ermes had the momentum to pin.. And yes this was before the eventual quitting, Ermes could have had 3 pins.

I’ve already watched this match live and commented on this video months ago but I keep coming back to watch this collosal titan battle and wanted to add that Ermes had Levan on the ropes to pin Levan in this match 3 times, 3! Each time Levan’s arm was separating from his bicep and was on the brink of being pinned until Levan elbow slipped at the end of each one. Round 3 (2-0 Levan to Ermes at that moment) where Ermes lost his wrist and nearly pinned Levan. If Ermes won that third round, that could’ve damaged Levan psychologically and Ermes had huge chances to win the match at that point if that had happened. Insane moment man and I remember screaming like hell while watching it live and my wife was getting annoyed at how excited I was during that moment 😂. I want to end this with saying that I really do think that Ermes has what it takes to overtake Levan at some point and it will be a matter of time and a lot of hard training and winning matches versus other opponents for Ermes before he comes to take his crown from Levan. Then it would be Denis vs Levan and whoever wins that match will face Ermes. That’s how I see it going unless Denis faces off against Levan first before an Ermes vs Levan rematch.

What a let down last night vs this performance for Ermes.

This is the best emotional fight I have seen in recent years, Ermes fought to the last and gave Levan a great fight , Ermes is a Rocky of our time!

Everyone knows Levan is a beast. But Ermes is the first person (i think) to give him an actual challenge. Ermes is insanely strong. Going 2-4 is something to be proud of when no one's been able to do that to Levan. Respect to you sir and such a beast!

I'm already a fan of Ermes and after this match man I'm crazy about this guy's game. ❤❤❤

Levan is the champion of course , he is an unbeatable beast in armwrestling. But i am most impressed by Ermes . Man has the spirit of a lion , of a champion . Levan is much heavier and for him to keep fighting and pulling all that weight , and giving Levan such a struggle.... He can be very proud of himself indeed . And for me as spectator it was great to watch.

Ermes has bones like carbon fiber and tendons like steel cable. How the hell did his arm not break with that much FORCE?

Probably takes a lifetime of armwrestling specific training to condition your bones, tendons, ligaments to withstand that force

Ermes just solidified a place in the hearts of all in the Arm Wrestling World. 99% of the world thought it was a going to be a 6-0 sweep for Levan. Ermes proved he could hang on. Well done!!!

Levan knew he couldn't just sit their and hold his opponent cause he knew Ermes had more power than Devon So Levan was more serious in these matches cause it took more strength and power to over come Ermes, I wouldn't say he is a threat but he is a great wrestler and is very powerful

There is nothing more frightening than a man that won't give up.

Gasparini has more strength than Levan for his body weight To hold levan on one arm he’s a freaking BEAST!

Mad respect for Gasparini to not only come out uninjured still fighting, but tactically knowing his limits after physical boundaries pushed this is new territory

@@vioyotube6725 I don’t think the two arenas you mentioned can ever be. A sporting competition is pure: beyond money and prestige there are usually no lives at stake. People are freed up to appreciated the battle on the field, knowing that what happens on the battlefield stays on the battlefield. Each man here was pushed to the limit by each other’s opponent, giving them a chance to rise to their very best abilities. Ermes was also a winner because he stood up to perhaps the greatest arm wrestler ever and held his own. THAT’S bragging rights. And for Levan, he felt he was finally pushed to his very limit and could actually see how far he could go. I’m certain that being a champion without worthy opponents can feel like a gilded cage after a while. Here, he felt completely alive and doing what he was meant to do, and Ermes gave him that gift.

Sorry to geek out here, but this kind of fight is epic and even reminds me of the legend of Gilgamesh, where he fights and barely beats Enkidu, realizing that the man opposing him is his warrior brother. In the end, the best warrior of ANY kind, is ultimately competing so they can find out what kind of stuff they are made of. And when they see the same in their opponent, they cannot help but to see themselves in that other person.

@@kennethjaffe576 Don't worry. I don't fault you for geeking out. I don't think we have people with enough character integrity now days either to come forth in politics. And i think we'd only see it shine when they loose a race with dignity lifting their opponent while still saying they'll do better, w/o the trash throwing during campaigns. Unfortunately we have some foul people in sports as well. Doping... And the soccer players who super fake damage during any contact. Hell, even the legend Lance Armstrong used PED's and no matter how much he did train for real will always be shamed because he did cheat outside the parameters given to everyone. But take Devon Larrat for example. He talks trash and is generally an asshole, but he's entertaining and always gives his opponent respect at the end, win or loose, i can respect that. And as you say Levan was pushed and happy about it. He even said it was the best match of his life. I was glad to hear that, because now i think he'll put even more effort in the future training, still feeling that motivation to improve. I was very surprised myself watching this match. Levan felt out of reach after the Devon match. Now game is on and hunting season for the champ title is back on the table.

I also have high hopes for Irakli. He has the strength, but he needs more weight on him. Having Levan as a training partner helps for sure =)

7:22 was the moment Ermes proved he has what it takes to contend with the best arm wrestler in the world. I am excited to see Ermes as he continues to excel in arm wrestling, I would love to see him go up against Devon. If Ermes contines to gain more weight I'm sure he could catch up to levon.

Ermes opened him in the 5th round. Being over a hundred pounds lighter and still being able to do this is simply incredible and unbelievable. I think he will crush Larrat with this form.

One of the best arm wrestling matches I have ever seen…. The mutual respect these chaps have for eachother is brilliant, two absolute clashes of the titans, Gasparini opened up Levans Weakness in that match and showed Levan is beatable just not atm by anybody in outright power.

As soon as Ermes was going to pin Levan in round 5, Levan pulls his elbow off the pad. If Levan had sportsmanship and let Ermes finish his drive, Ermes would have two rounds.

"..best match of my life" ~ Levan Not because it turned out best for him but he finally fought someone who could take the best of him and force him to go beyond his limits. This match is truly epic. Very powerful in every term.

I remember when Ermes bursted on the scenes. Even at a smaller weight, he was pulling guys like Vitali, genadi and winning. He’s a beast now. At some point, he’s gonna be the best in the world. We just got a glimpse of the size of the heart, strength of Ermes. He’s got the best shot to dethrone Levan. He’s NEXT!!!! 🇮🇹

What levan does is basically hold your hand and sit down, hoping his weight will do all the job. Even his pulldown thrust are all executed on his weight. But hold his hand for a few seconds there and levan is unable to hold that position and gets up, which is the time to counter levan, and which is what Ermes did here.

the only real advantage levan had was weight, because if Gasparini was able to stop it like that, it means that pound for pound, Gasparini is stronger. I am really looking forward to see these 2 compete again: seeing the beastly Levan being stopped like that is not a common sight. But I gotta say: Levan knew he would have lost every time he was not able to close rapidly, so...OOOOPS! "My elbow just slipped, it was not on purpose, I swear" XD Plus, if you are gassed, it your fault, do not pul tricks to try to recuperate, gather what remains of your strenght and go to the table and lose if you are destined to,: levan just avoided to get pinned in front of anybody, but anyone noticed. There is a bit of control that needs to be enforced, IMHO
