I love your videos Geoff. Keep em coming. What i would love to see is a video on how to get contracts with commercial jobs. Like businesses with nature strips and small gardens. Thanks again. Im learning heaps.

Great video. As a solo operator creeping up on 39 years (of age) now, I work 4 days not 5. Monday and Thursday are normal days. Tuesday and Friday I push a bit harder because I know I will have the next day to recover. Also gives me an extra day to spend with my wife, do shopping, admin stuff etc in the middle of the week. Your income is your own insurance, you have to make sure you're earning enough to pay yourself over those rainy days or when you get injured. I had about 3 months off once from crushing my hand (had half finger removed) and was lucky enough to have enough savings to pay myself over the recovery. It was also off season so I was able to keep most my customers. The way I see it, even as a solo operator, you are an employee for your own business and your business needs to be able to pay you a full years salary.

Thankyou for sharing. I'm retired live on acreage. Always something to do hurt my shoulder lopping some trees having a few days off to recover.

Lots of very true points. Especially about how it's irrelevant what others earn. All that matters is earning what you yourself need. All the best

Great videos Geoff, for sure would consider changing to battery, but whenever i have used battery in the past i can only get through one job without needing to recharge them.. Do you carry a charger in the car or how do you manage with that

I use husqvanna all my equipment except mowers are battery and have 5 batteries that run all day without charging . For example I can use the hedger all day on one battery, the biggest use of battery is the blower , with careful use all good. Some operators use charger connected to an invertor either through second battery or solo panels… The rapid chargers gets you 80 % in 30 mins .. Or yiu could customers outside power point whilst you are working . Battery has been a game changer for me !

💯% spot on Geoff. I really like the freedom & dealing direct with customers. No staff, just me & I'm doing fine. Winter's here 7 deg max temp & rain here today. Cheers Mate. 👍😎
