It’s easier to run on a treadmill than on solid ground. You don’t push yourself forward on a treadmill, the treadmill is trying to pull your legs from under you so all you gotta do is lift your legs up and move them ahead without putting any real force into the ground. It depends on the person but the difference is often a few miles per hour slower on solid ground.
