The reality of biology

The World Athletic Championships in Doha, 29 September 2019. The 4x400 mixed relay final (2 men and 2 women per team) sees Poland, with a female runner, start the last leg with at least a five-second lead. Around 50 seconds later, FOUR men have cruised past her to leave Poland finishing 5th.

    Don't forget the fact camera operators also do more in survival shows and they never get the recognition they deserve. Holding that camera while going down a steep hill and dodging trees so the actor can get to that river and catch a fish. Cameramen/women are beasts, I don't think they are human. Maybe some alien race that came to earth to help further our camera technology so we can finally be part of their universe reality show.

    Context: This was a mixed gender race. Each team had to have two females and two males. Most teams chose this strategy: Male Female Female Male So they chose a male for a good head start and a male as the last anchor to hold in their position. However, Poland decided to do: Male Male Female Female Their strategy was trying to get a large enough lead in order for the last female anchor to be able to hold out. However, one thing that they totally missed is that your last runner should always be your fastest. This way, they can either bring up your position in the end or hold it. Anyways, this was just some basic context for any of you that were wondering what was going on.

    Chino Gambino True. It’s how our damn hips were built. Many years ago I read a story that made me feel better about being female though. Apparently a large man (well over 6ft tall) was attacking and raping women in California during the 90’s. His downfall? Attacking a small barely 5 foot woman who also was a double black belt. Not only did she escape unharmed but they arrested in the hospital he dragged him self to. 😏 You go girl. Then there was a story I read in the paper that had ALL the men cringing in aviation class. Including the military guys (even the Navy Seal cringed). Apparently this guy hid in some bushes and pulled in a small petite woman when she walked past. He was bigger, stronger, and tried to force her to give him a blow job. She realized she was weaker and “cooperated” until his wang was in her mouth....... Then SHE BIT IT OFF! Welp. That guy quickly fled (fueled by shock and Adrenalin). She quickly dusted her self off, grabbed the bit off dick, got into her car, and drove to the nearest police station. There she walked in and promptly plopped the “evidence” on the counter. Probably traumatized all the male officers in the building. Welp. They quickly found the attempted rapist....in a hospital. Unfortunately (LOL) damage and time was to much and the dick could not be reattached. Prosecutor declined to press charges against the woman because what happed was self defense. The man had charges waiting pending hospital discharge. I bet that woman’s new street name is “Jaws” Sometimes, just because women are the “weaker sex”, does not mean we are helpless......

    white christian It was in the late 90’s (when I was a kid) I tried to find it online...no luck. But I remember it vividly. It was in a babysitters house! It was a readers digest article about the capture of a serial rapist. A story I read a few years ago talked about in detail what happened when a man grabbed a random woman and tried to force her to give him a blow job. He was stronger then her, she cooperated.....until the sickos dick was in her mouth. Then she bit as hard as she could....biting the dick clean off!!! Yea, the suspect fled (Adrenalin and shock I guess). The little lady calmly composed her self, took the “evidence” and drive to the local police station. There she went in and plopped the dick on the counter for the officers. Probably traumatized all the male officers in the building doing that. They found the suspect pretty quickly in a hospital....but were unable to reattach the dick due to much “damage”. The women was not charged because what happened was self defense legally. The now dickless man was going to get charged once he left the hospital. After sharing that article a guy confessed why he.....and all the other adult males cringed when I showed them my ability to crunch and tootsie roll pop lollipop in half without licking it. Oh. I have been doing this for years and always wondered why males cringed when I did that. 🤷‍♀️ I guess I share a similarity to the lady in the article.....strong jaws and who’s nick name is now “Jaws”.

    As a male swim team athlete (like it matters) I've always been shocked by women's ability to swim fly. Maybe it's their tits keeping boyancy, or their lack of muscle to keep them more boyant, but as a male with a heavily muscles chest, fly was the most arduous and impossible to maintain stroke. I mention this because I still remember one of our female members swimming the 200 free with fly. I've never been more amazed and just struck by shock. Granted our male flyer made her look like a toddler learning to swim for the first time (his thighs were freaking thicker than my chest) but she doing that always held a place in my heart. The fact I had a crush on her has nothing to do with fact I'm saying this.

The problem is that some people just consider the statement I just made as racist because it's "stereotyping black people" but there is a difference between biological facts and stereotypes. This is a reality that I struggle with even as a male vs. male thing. I’m a distance runner, running 25-30 races every year, including around 5 half marathons and 3 full marathons. I also run 7 days a week training, and have for over 23 years, as well as eat mostly only organic and natural foods. But genetically, I’m not a natural runner. My body would more naturally be suited to be a wrestler or a football player. But these just aren’t things that I’m interested in, and I like running. Even with all of my constant dedication for decades, I still regularly have friends who beat me at races, with far less effort and training as me. In fact, many eat pretty unhealthily, and may only run 1-2 days a week. It can seem pretty unfair. But I just keep at it every day, and sometimes do beat them.

    This is due to size not gender. Men and women are almost equal, however men on average are larger and are built to put on muscle a lot easier. And this is where the power comes in. Pound for pound (meaning the same lb of muscle mass on the same body parts), men and women have almost identical strength. There have been studies on this and not a lot of people are aware of this. On average women do have more slower twitch muscle fibers, and men have more faster twitch muscle fibers. However the "quality" of fibers are almost identical. About strategy: since this is a relay, and there is a baton exchange zone, wouldn't it be better to have your fastest runner in the middle so you can arrange your baton passes in a way that your fastest runner get to run slightly longer distance, and "protect" your slowest runner and have them run a shorter leg? i.e., pass the baton earlier in the zone to the fast runner, and pass later to the slower runner. I see that Japan is a country that has done well at the (men's) 4x100 m despite sometimes not even having any sub-10 runners. They make up the difference by perfect baton passes and optimising their strategy to an art.

    @@zeropeople8478 it's a team event: 2 men and 2 women. She ultimately shares the loss because of this, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's her fault. For all we know, she could've had the fastest time out of all the female competitors, while her male teammates ran slower than all the men on the other teams.

    Your speed can change some based on where you run. It’s generally a good idea to have your fastest runner last

  • @LSF000

    @LSF000

    4 ай бұрын

    Some runners are physically and psychologically a better fit for one leg over the others. The 1st leg is the longest and needs a good starter. The 2nd leg requires the runners in the outer lanes to cut in on the backstretch most efficiently and jockey for position. The 3rd leg is the least specialized physically but often requires a strong mentality to set up the anchor runner for success. The anchor leg is for all the marbles and generally calls for the fastest runner with the strongest kick to finish. Edit: And that's just what's generally accepted as a framework to build from. So many other factors can alter the team's strategy. Not to mention the strategy involved in making a full lap around the track as fast as possible in the first place.
