Running 100-Mile Races with Rheumatoid Arthritis [Ep.26]
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
www.movedamnyou.com Summer Wesson was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis as a child and was told she would never be able to run, lift, or do much of physical anything. She decided to kick that systemic autoimmune disease in its stupid face and became an ultramarathon runner. She's run and completed two 100-mile marathons to date and shows no signs of slowing down.

How are you doing now? Did you change what you eat?
This is the best video that I've seen. Doctors do as much as they can based on their training, but there are others that say wait a minute, what are you eating?
I dont really think that running is good for everybody with arthritis especially with hip or knee arthritis. Nice story but it arthritis is complex and affects people in diferrent ways. She is still young and probably is in early stage of arthritis.
I've been recently diagnosed with an inflammatory arthritis, although I've been suffering with it for a year. I'm about to start a biologic medication to help with the increasing pain. I'm also an ultra-runner, and have finished three 100-milers. I'm so glad there are others suffering from arthritis who participate in long-distance running. My challenge is that my arthritis affects both knees. I'm hoping to finish a 100k race at the end of this month.
You are a rock star! I too have RA (adult onset) and one of my biggest goals is to run a marathon. Love your energy and positive spirit! Thank you for making this video! I'm writing a book about kicking challenges like RA in the butt. Love to connect!
I am suffering from seronegative polyarthritis from past 3 months. Can I start running guys? Pls suggest me.
First view and comment! I can relate to her story, I was also diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was nine. I think because I've always been somewhat active(martial arts, body weight exercise, and recently deadlifts) since then that it doesnt bother me very much(except if I'm in a very cold environment for too long)
Wow! a hundred mile race! that's amazing! You know maybe training for this 5k will just be the beginning,Larry I think when I complete it you should celebrate with me by joining me for a run!
Ahahahaha good one
