I was already sold on Runequest before you gave it a 10/10. This just looks like something I could sink a lot of time into just considering my character. I do love robust systems where its not just surface deep with character gen. Other than that I don't mind some crunch so long as I can get my head around the system. After having seen you look at it and seeing a friends physical copy I'm definitely getting a copy either physical if I can cheaply and easily get one or just the PDF. Great video! Looking forward to more.

Good stuff. Really happy they have a proper decent sized Bestiary for it, too. Which is something not all RPGs can claim.

I love how you hold the book up long enough and full on enough for me to see. Everywhere else just pulls it up sideways and by the time it is on camera they put it down.

What you say here actually reminds me a bit of the Artesia RPG, and interestingly enough one of the latest modules to Runequest has a cover which is (as far as I know) made by the Artesia author, Smylie.

Found your review it useful, thank you. Never played RQ, but only read about it and seen it in shops. Very well-crafted book! Looks like really good quality, both for the artwork and the craftsmanship. Good to see in our digital age.

played this back in the early 80's, until AH wrecked it and other games took the lead (CoC), always liked the skill system and dangerous combat system (just like traveller),.... most tempted to polish the bronze armour once again...

Great review. It's my gaming plan this year to get back into Runequest, having not played it for years. Your review has pretty much sold this game back to me :-)

Just picked up Runequest last week and can say im so excited to run it. However i think i may drop or homebrew strike ranks a bit. It took some time to wrap my head around, and i feel like it may bog things down a whole lot. We'll see, otherwise i love the brp system and the additions RQ brings with passions, runes, viceral combat, etc.

The book do mention Steve Perrin and Greg Stafford as authors on this edition, but what does it really mean? Were they really involved with the writing of this edition or are they just celebrating them?

I really like Runequest. 7th edition is my first time playing a Chaosium game, let alone Runequest and I think its a great step up from D&D 5e. I do have to disagree. New players could easily get into this. Honestly, in my experience - its usually easier for a player to get into a game when they have no prior experience with roleplaying games. But even if all they have played before was 5e, they can easily still get into this game.
