Run To Raton | A Chopper Party, Campout, & Weekend Motorcycle Ride through Colorado and New Mexico
#MotorcycleCamping #HarleyDavidson
Motorcycle Runs are my favorite type of social gathering. Especially when they involve brushing the dust off my Harley-Davidson Sportster and taking my friend Tara to her first big Motorcycle Campout: RUN TO RATON! This weekend ride was packed with good eats, good times, rad motorcycles of all varieties, and of course, GREAT motorcycle riding in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico!
DAY ONE: On the way down south, we stopped at a craft brewery called ales Brues Alehouse in Pueblo, Colorado for lunch before heading over to Pueblo Reservoir to beat the summer heat. Afterwards, we rode the Highway of Legends Scenic Byway and checked out Bishop's Castle: a privately owned, free-to-the-public castle that has been under construction for 60 years.
DAY TWO: We headed out to ride the Enchanted Circle and grab some food. This is one of the most popular motorcycle rides in Northern New Mexico. Our first stop was the Burrito Banquet in Cimarron, where we quickly realized a storm was coming in. We changed our plans and headed back to Cold Beer New Mexico, a quirky dive bar in the middle of absolutely nowhere to meet up with some friends.
Unfortunately, my GoPro Max mount snapped due to the vibrations of my sportster. I had to cut my filming short on just day two of this little weekend motorcycle ride. Hope y'all enjoyed the video!!

Haha Brad rollin’ up on you was awesome. I loved the shot of the one guy workin on his bike and his buddies sitting around him just chatting. That’s some wholesome motorcycle culture sh*t and I love it. No phones, no rush, just hanging out with friends around a motorcycle, not caring about the rest of the world.

You still have the only motorcycle channel that really understands what riding a motorcycle is all about. I remember crossing Raton Pass on a 2007 Street Bob. Great feeling. You understand what it means to ride a motorcycle. Thank you so much.

I love those old skool hard tail chops. Back in the early 1990's there was a big grass roots custom movement in the UK. I built quite a few Triumph engines, many of which went into traditional choppers with looooong girder forks. I wonder where they all are now? Looks likes a really fun event.

@@ridetofood Old bikes; if built right and not beat on too much; will get you where you need to go. Back in 1982, I rode my 84 cu. in. Pan/Shovel chopper from Cleveland, OH to Boston -- down the Hudson to NYC and back to Ohio. Besides a run in with Dudley Do-Right and a flat rear tire, I didn't have any problems whatsoever. I like your Sporty -- nothing radical -- the fork is just the right length and you retained the front binder (smart move). The paint is tasty. So is that stainless two-into one exhaust. Ride safe. Stay frosty.
