My father came home from Vietnam in 1968 to nothing. His parents thought he would never come back so they sold all his belongings. He had a 1968 BSA and rode it from Michigan to Alaska to work on the Cook Inlet on an exploratory drill rig. His story’s about the trip and the work are epic. Wish he had a go pro camera in those days.

When I was younger I made the run your making and many others. Sometime alone, sometime with a gal on the back, sometimes with friend or two and others with my dad riding next to me. Slept on the ground at night and rode all day long. My bikes have sat in a shec for few years because the needs of my kids, work and agings parents always put them too far down the list. Sadly I list my old man last year and the last time I rode was next my best friend at the front of his funeral procession. Thanks for being who you are and reminding me of who I was. Enjoy it while you can! Life is too short to miss having a little adventure. If you are ever in Wesley Chapel and need a pick up, loaner tool or a shop to wrench in hit me up.

I think I’ve seen this video probably 5-10 times. It’s such a comfort video. Due to financial issues, I had to sell both my motorcycles and haven’t rode in a few years, but every so often I’ll come back to this video to kind of be reminded of how amazing riding truly is.

Brandon Henderson it's absolutely the only way to ride! Ya gotta try it sometime. Jockey shifting feels quite natural, and is not as fightening as you may think. I've taught many of my buds to ride 'em 40 years for me on jockeys. (does that make me old??) :P

dmaxcustom keeps the tolerances in check! Theses motors are built pretty loose since they’re air cooled and stuff will get stuck and settle weird if they aren’t regularly cycled around and expanded and contracted

Binged today by rewatching all the chopper build videos. This series was hugely fun to see again with all of Josh’s suffering while he learned and progressed to be able to do more and more along the way. A lowly cafe racer becomes a classic old school chopper that immediately goes on a 1,200 mile trip. Josh is triumphant oh hell yes!

One thing I love about the harley near me in Minnesota is I had a Honda shadow that needed new crush gaskets. I called everywhere local to me no one had them. Indian refused to look even though I had the part with me. They just wouldn’t do it. Last ditch effort I went to a Harley dealership thinking the would just laugh in my face. The guys back there tore up their back room looking for a crush gasket my size. Unfortunately they couldn’t find one. But that level of dedication is the reason why I sold my Honda shadow and bought a Harley.

You're definitely brave, my great uncle in law got taken out by a pothole riding a chopper with those bars on it Also 80 miles to a tank resonated in my soul, that's almost exactly how much my Harley 48 gets before I start stuttering 😂

I rode my 72 Shovelhead all over and it has never broke down on me ever. Bradenton to New Orleans and back is my longest ride on it. Bradenton to Key West and back seems like about the same distance. I like your rode trip videos they are some of the best I have watched.

I rode my 1947 Whish Bone Framed HD with a 74 cubic in shovel head from Minot ND in 1992, I took my time and it took me seven days to do the ride. She rode hard but she was cool. I miss her so. Keep riding.

I loved watching your video, this pandemic quarantine thing really sucks and I've been feeling pretty down lately but watching this definitely cheered me up a bit. Yeah. Especially when I ran over some road kill in Valdosta. Stopped at the Florida welcome center and there was a piece of meat hanging off the bottom of the bike. Got rid of that but then the bike was cooking the "juices" all the way home. It didn't smell as good as you might think.

I don't ride bikes. But I like bikes. I like watching guys build bikes. Thanks for taking us along for the journey. I enjoyed the trip.

I have personally worked on some of the vehicles at Barber's - If you haven't been there - go, it's worth it if you are any kind of gearhead.

You hardcore weirdo you made it. My hero.

When I was still in the Navy stationed in Norfolk Va. back in the mid 1970's, I owned and rode a 1948 EL Panhead jockey shift chopper. About twice a year I rode it home to Delray beach and back to Virginia on leave. Almost a 2000 mile round trip. I maintained it well and never had a problem. Also back then, parts of I-95 weren't completed and you had to do a bit of two lane secondary roads also. It is good to see young people doing this and actually riding. Also I am over 60 and still ride a Panhead, this one I built from scratch five years ago. It's a 1949 EL tank-shift foot clutch. I also own a 1968 XLH, a 1996 Road King and a 2019 Low Rider. My favorite bike? The Panhead. None of them are garage queens, I ride every day in Florida.

Just saw this, very cool! Four of my buddies and me rode from Michigan and through 9 other states on a Rocky Mountain trip back in '73, all on Honda 500's and 750's. I got side swiped by a car in Colorado Springs, laid up for a week at a girls place who I just met, then rode back home in MI alone. You bring back great memories of that trip. Thanks
