What a trooper she was. I was stationed in Oklahoma and had orders to a school in Charleston SC. A friend I worked with also had to go to same school. He was from Wa State and had never been east of Mississippi River. I asked he wanted to ride the scoot, he said sure. I had a Suzuki GS 1100 trimmed out with fairing etc. His eyes were as big a saucers at some of the sites. It is great to take someone on that experience. Loved the comment "save some panic for later" Some rain gear might have allowed her to be a little warmer and cut wind. For me everything looks better on the bike. Happy trails.

Ride it out. Miles under the tyres. Sun, wind, rain. The creeping dusk, the bleeding dawn. Motorcycles man, you feel everything. You’re in it.

You & Jess make me appreciate the motorcycle community so much better, I have been riding 40 years, riding sport bikes in the quiet cocoon of full face helmet & leather. 2008 I discovered my 1st Harley Sportster handles like a sportbike, amazing torque, dual disc brakes rubber mounted engine, 1/2 helmet & focus on the enjoyment of the ride. Motorcycles are about joy 🤩 and the very reason you ride with all your senses wide full open, not just the machine and cocoon you inadvertently put yourself into. Thank you HTW, for bringing out the joy of riding sharing your true passion for our sport.

And then Up the Oregon coastline. I know that it seems like it's on the other side of the world, Florida feels like that for me when it comes to my bike. but if you've never done that ride, put it on your bucket list. I think you're right about the people who just watches and don't really comment. I feel like that describes me. I don't watch every video on this channel, but I watch it from time to time, and I enjoy it for the most part, especially the long trips.

ive searched youtube over and over again since finding your channel .. im convinced you're the only one going cross country and actually talking about it .. everyone else it seems is 30 min of gas station video .. 30 seconds of video from the saddle .. no commentary .. much less live thoughts ya know . you post a lot of cool stuff .. but the cross country videos are my favorite for sure

Girl on the back needed some sort of rain suit to keep the wind from going through her clothing. Made the mistake of underpacking once on a bike trip and was freezing my ass off. Finally put on my rain suit and it made all the difference in the world.😬

This video and the other one inspired me. Couldn’t take the bike, but finally got off two days in a row. Grabbed the truck and took off on a 16 hour trip to Tennessee. The road is freedom, and the bike is the key, but just getting out of here helped blow off some steam.

Go to the east side of Charleston WV and ride the backroads following the river... best roads to bike through and lots of small coal mining towns with all the ambiance you could hope for.

This series is by far my favorite of your content. I have a 1200 Goldwing as well and had the front end wobble. Fresh tires and All Balls steering head bearings helped a lot. These bikes are underengineered for the backroad trips as you said. Still a beautiful ride! Thanks for taking us along!

Absolutely Amazing Brother! Memories you'll have forever. We truly do live in a beautiful country if you take the time to look. And to make it even better, on a 30+ year old GoldWing, basically trouble free. That's why I love my 85 Interstate. So happy you took us along on this epic journey!

North Carolina is terrible on two wheels at night. But not just two wheels it sucks in a car too. The rain just makes it worse dear lord. I love your channel man. And your videos! I hope when I move down there I get to run into you at some point. I love riding in the mountains back home though. Getting to hear someones outside perspective on it makes me wish I hadn't grown up there and got to experience it. Not that I had a bad life there but I just feel like I don't get to enjoy it the same way you did. But man those views are gonna be something I miss. Keep living life to the fullest man you're the best and I'm glad you shared this with everyone!

I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. What a fantastic video. When you started talking about riding 600 miles in the rain and your experience I'm sorry I could not stop laughing. Only because I've been there that I could enjoy your experience so much. I rode 400 miles in the pouring rain from Milwaukee to Ohio on a naked 1983 goldwing with no rain gear just a leather jacket. I loved the entire video. Thank you. You will never forget that experience and will be telling that story to friends. From the emotion in your voice I could feel your adventure. This is why we ride !

You’re a NUT! Did that ride in reverse ( New York to FL and back) but took 9 days and hunkered down in a hotel for Sally. Didn’t go on an interstate until I ran out of mountains in GA so I was REALLY happy to see you get off them. I couldn’t agree more. West VA is gods gift to motorcycles. And call me a h*mo but the only way I could explain the blue Ridge Pkwy was magical. Wish I knew you were out there. Would have kept my eyes open for that awesome purple goldwing. Keep up the great work!

Left at 5:30 Saturday morning and came back home Sunday night😂bout 1300 miles round trip. . Not the smartest thing we’ve ever done but it was a ton of fun!
