RUINING My Lexus LS400 Fender By Repairing It

This is the final episode of this repair! I finally completed this fender repair that was part of the wire tuck and subwoofer install. So, we had many snags in this whole process. Frankly I think what I did would have been a great repair if it weren't for the fact that I seemed to be unable to find the correct paint. To reiterate: At first I tried a black spray paint from a local paint supplier, they claimed it was the exact same as the onyx 202. I then tried the onyx 202 made by perfect match, but it has a metallic element to it, and my paint does not. I then finally tried the same paint supplier and they gave mixed me an onyx 202, and it still seemed too grey. (it was almost the same as the other can they sold me, so they were probably right about that)
Anyways, because I resprayed it so much, the final sanding left some spots that weren't covered enough. I quickly sprayed over those spots and tried to blend it all, but it didn't really work.
So, the subwoofers done, the fender is installed and its all good to go, but the paint is gross.

Your videos on the wire tuck have been super helpful, i was wondering if you could give me some tips for installing the fender? im having trouble lining up the bracket towards the front of the car and it seems impossible

Thanks I appreciate that alot! Well, it is very tricky. The front bracket is kind of weird, alot of fenders are sort of like this. My best advice is basically to get everything lined up as good as you possibly can, you might have to insert one side first, before you can line it all up, keep in mind theres like 4 things that might snag the fender and prevent it from being moved. It really just takes some patience, and moving it around alot. The bracket is weird, I think you have to slip the fender in past the bracket on one end and then you will be able to line it up. All I can really say is maybe put some tape on the edges so you dont scratch anything, and you'll have to play with it. keep in mind, its likely that those thing brackets can get bent, so if the bracket isn't really lining up but the fender seems to be positioned correctly, just bend the bracket back to where it was

Its true. I heard that youre not a real lexus owner unless you have one fucked up fender unfortunately that seems to be true. It was even true on my miata lmfao
