Ruger SP101 .22 LR revolver Range time! .22 revolvers are awesome!
Спорт
Finally got an SP101 .22lr revolver.
It has a very heavy trigger and a really heavy pull on the hammer, but it functions flawlessly after a little polishing I did to it.
I really enjoy a good wheelgun, and especially in .22lr!

My favorite gun to go range shooting. Accurate, light recoil and cheap ammo. No issues with it.

It’s pretty good for sure. I think my Smith and Wesson 617 is better than the SP101 in 22 but they’re both very good
I very happy,that you can shout of this revolver
Nice find. Get as many guns as you can afford, along with ammo. Thanks for the review.
That Ruger SP is a fine shooting revolver , good choice ! I’ve been a revolver shooter all my life and have always enjoyed both double action models and I have always been fond of single action models!

The SP101 is a great piece.
Great range report. I really like my SP101 hammerless 357 but I think I would want this as an all-around outdoor companion.

This is a great companion gun, it does need some better springs though, maybe I’ll check Wolff out- need some other springs so while I’m at it…
I rly like the SP101s. I'd prob take one in any caliber I could find. Something about them just looks streamline, very appealing to me. I dunno why, they just look so sweet. Good looking gun. A nice revolver, thanks for sharing 👍

I really like it. I may try to get some lighter springs for this one. See if it lightens the action a little.
I have always liked Ruger revolver’s 👍🏻🇺🇸

They’re well made and shoot great
Picked up one of these a couple months ago. I put a 13 lb wolf spring in it. Helps a lot. Also put a Hogue grip on it which feels great and backs my finger off that trigger a little bit.

@@epps1217 I think I ended up with the heaviest hammer spring- still lighter than factory
I got an SP-101 last year (in .357). I was expecting the trigger to be similar to my GP-100, which I consider to be a pretty decent trigger, but I found that the SP-101 that I got had a really heavy and gritty trigger and more like a Smith trigger than a Ruger. Fortunately, stoning the internals and putting in some Wolff springs helped dramatically, so now it has a smooth and only moderately hefty trigger, yet no light printer strikes

My sp101 in 357 was really smooth, but heavy. This one is way heavier though

I had one of those two women in my family couldn’t pull the trigger in double action so I went and get change the springs then the gun wouldn’t fire all eight shots so I get rid of a piece of crap and wouldn’t buy another one Jerry Mcdonogh
I had a Charter Arms .22 revolver back in the 80s. Wish I never let it go. Good looking gun….enjoy!! Vinnie

I agree. “Hi cap” revolvers are awesome. There’s a couple really nice H&R’s at the same shop I got this one from, but overpriced IMO. Really nice 930 like the one I had, complete unlike mine

The trigger pull ( single and double action ) can be lighten up with a Wolf spring kit,don't go too light.

Yeah I looked for 2 years to get this one and it was expensive - it’s not perfect either- looks like the barrel is canted a tiny bit and the cylinder had been hollywooded a couple times. But I took a chance because they’re few and far between

@@crankygunreviews If I remember correctly. They did have both sp101 and gp100 at the store in 2017. I think I chose the gp100 because the trigger felt better. Was a tough decision because I think the size of the sp101 is a perfect size for a nice 22lr da stainless steel revolver
@crankygunreviews

@@brettcatterall7761 yeah the trigger on mine was really bad- I bought a Wolff kit and tuned it as best I could- lightened the trigger pull about 3 pounds, and still mostly reliable.
I bought a Ruger SP101 in .22. Big disappointment. The trigger was too heavy and gritty. It has jammed, gone out of time, trigger stuck back, etc.
@crankygunreviews

I bought mine used and it was far from perfect. I am a tinkerer so I had to file a few areas, and put Wolff springs in. It’s much better. Mine someone had hollywooded the cylinder shut and it made a burr in the frame behind the cylinder that I had to file out, as it would not rotate when the cylinder was loaded. The frame actually dragged on the rounds in the chamber. The heavy trigger is partially due it it being a Rimfire gun- I put a 10 lb return spring in and a 14 lb hammer spring and it made a world of difference.
Nice but these are $800+ now 😮
