Ive done it just this year and quite successfully. Just make sure you cover the basic - Explosive Power, Fitness, Awareness and Good Ball Skills.

done exactly the same, lost 3st built muscle but not able to play tight prop anymore cos havent got that big weight holding me down anymore

I play 8 best thing to do, keep the ball at your feet then run through when your in there 22 otherwise let the scrum half have it

Number 8 is my dream position ,but how do i train to be one from tight-head prop?

Thanks for the great tip. My son who is only in u11s but seems like a perfect No.8 to me (although he thinks he's a centre). I wouldn't mind any feedback if anyone wants to add it. You can see his most recent highlights at No.8 on my home page by clicking my user-name . Cheers :)

i've literally only started rugby 6 weeks ago and before that i've never played it before but i've made the number 8 position. anyone have any tips?

i am making the same change, because of my 2stone lose of weight it's affecting my power.

u dont.. haha im sorry mate but going from second row to number 8 is do able but prop to number 8? anything is possible but its going to be hard

you dont need a gum shield for training :P
