He was an absolute master. He shared with the world his talent, grace and wisdom. I am so grateful to have run upon so many youtube shorts on him. I danced for fifteen years and shall never forget seeing Rudoph in life magazine with Margot. God Bless Us All. Rudi you will never be forgotten. You are there in the laughter of children leaping with joy and twirling around in a meadow. You were and are loved. When I dance I shall always think of you. Hugs. EB

Rudi Nureyev - Renaissance man. Russia was too small to hold his spirit. Too soon, the earth was too. He speaks about being remembered. He is totally unforgettable. Thank you for posting this interview.

Wow that last question almost put me in tears "do you have positive feelings of young dancers learning from what you've done?" he has certainly left a deep imprint on me.

Totally agree with Lin Hiril. He is such a pleasure to talk to and a joy to watch him dance. It's a pity he wasnt well known in his own motherland...

She actually got him to say all kinds of wonderful things. I remember thinking when I heard this for the first time: geez how could anyone not love this guy? I know that sounds effusive, but he's smart, witty, observant, vulnerable, and kind. Why does he think he has to hide that?

He was wonderful. A giant of a man in talent, courage, intellect, strength and work. I don't see arrogance. I see self-containment, self-awareness and dedication to purpose. I can imagine an enormous amount of jealousy surrounding him but he was bigger than all of it.

@MsTruNorth Yes MsTruNorth, you are right, I record any worthwhile TV, Sky Arts 2 usually, they air more ballets than any other channel, but there isn't much, only Alice in Wonderland from Royal Ballet this Christmas on BBC, nothing since.....I stream KZread now mostly. This video from 1980 is great, yes, Rudi lives on and on.....love him.

His personality is truly one of a kind. Unpredictable, sometimes supremely arrogant, sarcastic yet witty and massively contradictory. One could not tell if he told things truthfully or just lied because he simply did not want the interviewer to know more about him.

by Dane Youssef His partnership with Margot Fonteyn was what gave him fame and success. There's no debate or even question about it. But... I always thought the best work he did and the best partnership was the one he had with Miss Piggy. Check it out on "The Muppet Show." Right here on KZread. by Dane Youssef

No you are wrong. He would have found success even without that legendary partnership. After all, he didn’t fade away after the partnership ended, did he?
