I saw them perform 3 times. Nureyev was all fire and wonderful. Incredibly charismatic and he had animal magnetism. Fonteyn a calm, lovely contrast to him but she held her own.

Its so clear from these photos that they adored each other.They were lovers whose love was as tragic as those of the characters they danced.

I saw them on stage as a young person and they were magical together. The ballet wasn't the same, and even today that magic is not created by our young enthusiastic dancers. Dancing with heart, soul, love and a soulmate is a different, transportive experience for the dancers and the audience. We miss those transcendent performances. Thank you so much for the beautiful photographs that bring back wonderful memories.

Very few lovers achieve that particular harmony and blending of bodies and souls. We should value each relationship for what it offers, humbly knowing that to find a love like theirs is to win a particular lottery.

What awesome bodies they both had . That's come with years of dedication and sacrifice. They were a pure art form their bodies making the art. Just wonderful. I'm so happy for her that she had someone who simply adored her. I hope she found love passion and joy with him . She certainly didnt find that with her vile using husband. Shame he didnt die when he was shot .

2 dance monsters...lol...must be (...an Argentinian?) in English..."dance monsters" doesn't sound as ..for example like it does in South America ..when one says...ES UN MONSTRUO! talking about a superstar super-talented pioneer of an art form...there is also the SOUND of that figure of speech...but "dance monster" sounds ...not the same in English...but i loved the comment...hee hee.. JI JI ;)

Their LOVE, their adoration for each other can not be imitated! Their faces, every their gesture, their body movements, after all, said it all! They look so liberated and happy. And, of course, the music - this Devine music only inspired their feelings, their passion. Even the photo shows Rudi's genuine love for Margo, when he passionately kisses her in Romeo and Juliet. He said once: " I have only her! She is a part of my family". You know that he's always supported Margo financially till the end of his life, without letting her know that. Unfortunately , life didn't let them be together because, as a noble women Dame Margo Fonteyn couldn't leave her paralyzed husband. She had to to care of him for rest of his life.These two greatest stars left us the most invaluable gift - their ART! Forever! Thank you for posting this wonderful video!

What a marvellous video..they were pure artists in.love with dance...what a loss ..really...especially in 2021..deprived of every art (theatre, cinemas, concerts,...)

They totally adored each other and were so right for each other - she would calm his troubled moods and he injected new life into her - but tragically they did not manage to marry; something they had both wished. Margot thought that once Tito was paralysed she had to care for him instead. But she and Nureyev stayed deeply in love and in touch all their lives, despite living far apart. They danced together as one person.
