MY card RX 6800 is the beast in 2k! 25-35% difference, very good!

I buy RX 6800 yesterday, I got it with a 2-year warranty, last piece in stock. I've been thinking about the 4060TI for a long time, but the choice to put a 128bit memory interface in it is a total abomination, because it killed the potential of that card unbelievably. Now I only play at 1080p but those FPS are way over the top. I want to upgrade to 2K, but I primarily bought that card because of VR and it works above reproach there, my old 1070 couldn't handle pulling VR. The FPS drops were unbelievable and it was becoming an unplayable and pain inducing tool. You can't really get anything better in that price range, maybe RTX 3080, but that's all going to be second hand.

@lonen63906800 sits between a 3070 and 3070TI. Will beat 3070 in most games if not all. Will reach the TI half the time in games but not always. At prices they all go for now their all good cards.

I look forward to seeing this matchup in RT performance. I don't really care about framegen/DLSS/FSR, but knowing how they stack up in raw RT is nice. Great video! Keep up the awesome work!

1080p vr is fine amd , more I'd go Nvidia.

I like your approach of raw power comparisons. I run a 4090 in my main rig and a 6700xt in my portable rig. Quite honestly, I run with RT off 50% of the time across both platforms. I like it in pockets but providing pure raster performance is a breath of fresh air not bogged down by situational RT (IE does the game support it? if so, how much?) or DLSS/FSR BS. Just give us the pure raster match ups across a wide array of games and see which cards have the most core horsepower. Good work my man!

I also have a 6700XT (XFX Qick 319 BLACK 6700XT 12GB). I have to turn RT off in things like CoD: Black Ops Cold War. That or crash 15-20 minutes in from running out of VRAM while also suffering from terrible performance from not having enough VRAM. 12GB @ 2560x1440 ain't nothing in that game with the HD texture pack + ray traced options on (mainly shadow stuff, at that). But in Cyberpunk 2077.. I run all high/ultra with all RT on, but I have to leave the Global Illumination ray tracing off. That's just too much for my 6700XT. That's 1440p with FSR @ Quality. Even 1440p FSR Quality with the reflections, sun/local/ambient shadows is technically "too much" of a performance hit, but I enjoy seeing it on. At the same time, FSR 2.x is not great in that game. The BEST game I've ever seen FSR 2 implemented in is The Witcher 3 remake. I can run 1440p with FSR at balanced or even performance, and the game looks great. That's with everything at Ultra+ and all ray tracing options on. Kind of odd how Cyberpunk looks bad with FSR @ Quality while The Witcher 3 looks amazing with FSR @ Performance lol. I still get lower framerates in The Witcher 3, though. I need a different GPU. The 6700XT 12GB is a great 1440p card with NO RT. But I enjoy how RT changes the look of the pavement, tires, paint, etc. in F1 22/23 so I leave it on. I think I've decided that 1920x1080 w/ no FSR looks better than 2560x1440 with FSR @ Quality in that game for me. Either way, it has to be one or the other to manage RT in F1 22. I'll stop before I list off every game haha. Wanted to get a 6950XT but am just gonna keep waiting.

Run rx 6600 and 4090 use 6600 as display output and use 4090 to game u will be able to use frame gen Dlss and fsr too u will get really high framerates

Also frametime and 1 percent lows are a factor for smoothness and playability. The 6800 does better in both.

@@dammaguy1286 I got the 4060ti just to see how ray tracing looks and nvidias frame gen. Gotta say frame gen looks okay if starting fps is high. There is input lag though. Again if starting frame is low like 30fps. 60 and up it feels better. Ray tracing looks mediocre compared to path tracing. Since my gpu can't run either comfortably, raster it is and next gen i am 100% getting a higher end nvidia gpu (or amd but i doubt theyll leap over nvidia) just to use path tracing on everything that has it. But for now, get raster cards unless you can afford at least a 4070ti.

why is it so many games use so much vram on amd card?

At 4:03 why the Nvidia build using only 16GB RAM and in the RX build using 22GB Ram?

did you use smart access memory (for both ?) ?

the 4060ti is a good power efficient 1080p card specially for user who have 8-9th gen intel and ryzen 2000-4000 series since anything above 4060ti is huge bottleneck at 1080p but the price is crap its OP.

@@feliperavasio763 One thing the RX 6800 does is play Cyberpunk 2077 in 2160p medium-high setting at 60-70fps in Night City & 70-80fps in The Badlands when undervolted & overclocked but what did take me by surprise was The RX 6800 originally ran Cyberpunk 2077 with Ultra Ray Tracing settings in 2160p at 30fps & I doubt The RTX 4060ti could do that.

What kind of app are you using to know the fps, power, ram usage, and I would like to test mine, and I am considering to get 4060ti due to its new feature like low power consumption although I already have Asrock RX 6700XT but this upcoming October I will sell my Asrock RX6700XT and considering buying a Brand new 4060 TI 8GB, my second option is to buy secondhand GPU my choices are RTX 3070, and 3070TI.

in layman's terms, the cpu has to do more work to keep up with the rx 6800 as it is a beefier card compared to the 4060 ti.

I got a 6800 for 399 USD and am on a 12400f now but am going to run a 12700kf with 32gb 3600 ram and 2k is real nice, in my opinion. Scavenging the i5 for a 3060 12gb budget build.

Just picked up a used rx 6800 for 350 bucks. Im upgrading from a rx 6600xt and cant wait!

Yup, used market. Got 3 of them already for me and my friend over the last 9 months. (first one was for 380€, second one was for myself for 350€ and the last one was really cheap for 280€). Currently I'm checking out the RX 6900 XT, coz it's only 370€ in my country. @@GorgeousPuree

Bruv.... For 60 bucks more you can get 7800 xt here. I ain't no way i'm even gonna buy nvidia again if they keep this crappy marketing and outrageous prices.

The RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB ram would be decent 1440p card if it would have released only with 16GB memory and around 350-400 USD MSRP. With DLSS and DLSS Frame Gen it has enough frame buffer to utilize those technologies, even it would be a good RT card for non enthusiast users. IMO the price and the stupid cut down memory controller (128 bit) is the biggest problem. With 256 bit and 16 gigs of GDDR6 it would have been even greater card. But nVidia decided otherwise and because AMD has a lots of unselled RX 6800 XTs still on the market every new card looks bad with these prices.

Rx6800 is in the same ball park with the 3080/4070. Not really comparable between the 4060ti.

Usage of CPU is bigger in rx 6800 combo as it is more powerfull GPU. In most cases, rx 6800 is delivering around 20% more FPS, that is why CPU needs to work more. Same for temps . Lowering setting from Ultra to Low can improve FPS , but CPU usage and temps will go up in most cases. Also in 2k , GPU bottleneck is the most noticable with 4060 ti as CPU is bellow 20% almost always.

obviously the glorious rx with 256bit bus solos that Filthy 128bit 4060ti 😂, if they made 4060ti w 256bit bus it would be good but they fumbled the bag. My next upgrade from 6700xt will be rx 6800 (440€) since Nvidia got NOTHING that comes close in performance to it Rx 6800 non xt is 8% faster than 3070ti

It's not a complete test if ray tracing is kept off at all times to make the AMD card look good.

Red dead 2 God of war Cs2 Valorant Overwatch Atomic heart Call of duty modern warfare 2 I can go on, but you get my point. Do you guys wanna know why i dont make as much ray tracing test as i do native raster? Because it doesnt make much views compared to native raster. Which says alot. Alot of viewers still search for native raster tests. Lmao ray tracing is not mandatory even with my rtx3080 I turn off ray tracing because the masive fps drop is not worth it even with dlss i like high 100+ fps always.

Ikr?? The difference isn't that much for that performance uplift the difference in the power bill will be pretty small. It's just fan boys spouting "AMD HAS MORE POWER CONSUMPTION" , which is true, but also don't bother on actually doing the math or taking in consideration that most people lock the FPS to their monitor refresh rate so it's not always stuck at 100% usage. My RX 6800XT sometimes uses less power than what my RTX 3070 was using when playing CoD mW2, the 3070 was pegged at 220w at all times when playing and the 6800XT goes from 170-220w

6800 xt pulls 250 on average, rx 6700 xt pulls even more than 6800 around 190 200w, and 7900xt or 6950xt pulls way over 300w. 6800 is one of most efficient gpus of last gen or even this gen from amd.

Can you please also include 4K RT DLSS+FG comparison with 6800, 6800xt, and 3070ti? Frame Gen is the only argument left to be defended by Nvidia for their grossly overpriced product. Would love to see how it stacks up.

Too few fames have FG. Most of hgames in this benchmark simply don't have it. And test with only selected few games will be pointless because it actually would be actually lie that card is faster than it is.

Rrx 4060ti both variants are one of the worst cards in term of price to performance. Feel bad for the morons who bought it xd. Rx6800 completely destroyed the rtx 4060ti for almost similar price and will keep better as puny 128bit is just not enough for a top mid end card And there also 6800xt which also very similar in price.

Meh... MSRP on the 4060 ti 8GB is the same as the 3060 ti 8GB. I don't see an issue there. More games are using DLSS now, so I think for the average user who likes Nvidia it's not a hard sell. I've got both the 6800 ( non-xt ) and the 4060 ti 16GB in my machine. Using the 6800 for gaming and the 4060 ti for gen AI.

@@eadomino2 bruh my rx 6800 consumes around 180w and temp is around 55-65 degrees and hotspot is also around 70 degree where my previous 3070 sometimes went past 80 degree Don't know what a nvdia fan boy is defending. 4060ti is a disgrace of card no cap. Though i would say 4070 is not a bad card although 6800xt and 6900xt both are better.
