Thanks for your comment 🙏I continue to appreciate your viewership. I will try my best to put out more videos. I have 3 planned so far and recently got a macro-probe lens that I hope will add some new interesting footage.

Haha i recognize those hard drive magnets anywhere! We used them when i worked for a tech repair company! Fantastic for exactly what you used it for

Thanks for your comment 🙏 I am happy that you noticed. I've been using those hard drive magnets ever since I realized they work just as good or better than the advice to use little cups or containers. The tip to also keep each screw on a diagram of where it is...is way too hard. So just grouping things together with magnets has worked well. Thanks again for noticing.

Thanks for the video. Did you have to wedge a flathead into the retention clip, or use some other method to remove the three fan connectors on the PCB? (Noticed the video cut whilst removing them) I can't seem to disconnect them by gently wobbling them side to side - they seem stuck. Trying to redo the pads and would rather have it fully disassembled like yourself. Kind regards

Thank you for watching and for your comment. 🙏 If I recall correctly, for these 3 plugs, I removed by pulling them out, using the side to side method. They were tight and snug and it can be hard to put a lot of pressure in a such tight space. For the video, I actually unplug the plugs first (taking my time and using my fingers mostly) and then replug them in more gently. For the video, I use the tweezers to unplug them so the viewer can see it more clearly (rather than a hand/finger in the way). So, yea, I would use my hands and it's really simply snug plastic on plastic. This is different than on the Founder Edition, where there is a tiny latch to undo before pulling. Both those were different and thinner cables used by NVIDIA. These on the Vision were fairly standard. Hope that helps.

is it possible to swap this pcb with an evga cooler or any other?

Thanks for your comment 🙏 The gigabyte 3090 will not be compatible with an EVGA cooler. Both gigabyte and EVGA make custom pcbs that makes them incompatible. My experience with the vision has been that it has the same PCB as the gaming and eagle variants, so you may have some luck swapping in one of those coolers. Hope that helps.

can you please tell me what are the thermal pads thickness?

try to keep the vrm ones intact, as they're acceptable for what they are used on. the memory pads which are pretty meh are 1.5mm. if you damage the other pads and need to replace them, they are all 2mm, but you would be better served with very soft/compressable 2.5mm. if the pads you will use are not very compressable, just use 2mm. it's not worth using too thick compressible pads and warping the PCB leading to a much quicker death.

the vram pads on the back are 2mm, but again you may see better luck with very compressible 2.5mm. personally i spend the big bucks on the Gelid Extremes (NOT the ultimates) and use the correct 1.5/2mm pad size for the vram, then use some cheapo random pad for the vrms if you need to. iirc the Ultimates are very compressible so you may see some gains using 2mm/2.5 instead for vram, but do so at your own risk.

I send an email to gigabyte esupport about pad thickness and their answer is 1mm, 1.25mm and 2.25mm.

@@crnigruja1150 did you get them your card's serial number? there may have been a change on different card revisions and they gave you the info for your specific rev. i've only seen ones that need the pads i listed above, but gigabyte would probably know what size pads they use on the cards they manufactured
