RTIC Soft Pack Cooler Test & Review

Ойын-сауық

I test the RTIC Soft Pack cooler in a combination of high heat and high humidity to see just how well it would do in harsh conditions. Let's see how it does!

RTIC over YETI anyday. Love my RTIC molded cooler and the soft pack. Best money saved over a YETI. My rotomolded does condensate around the drain plug but not a killer for me.

Sounds about right. I've had my RTIC 20 soft cooler for over 2 years and take it on road trips. I can go a full day in hot weather (90s) without putting ice in it. Mild weather (70s) I can go 2 days. Also if it tips over it will not leak water, at least not in the time it takes to pick it back up.

Been using RTIC stuff for a while now doing forestry work relatively close to Mrgunsngear. My half gallon jug from them stays icy all day long as long it sits in the shade and at worst, the ice will melt but stays cold after 8 hours in the sun.

We have had the next size up? RTIC soft sided cooler for a few years now, and NO problems. They are durable, light weight, and affordable. It will keep ice longer if you pre-chill it with ice 24-48 hours before use. (Just like the hard sided models) but I don't typically do that. An over night inside the house, will bring it down to room temperature. But they work good! Although...my 30 year old, GOTT cooler, still works pretty good too!

  • @yancyteel4923

I went surprised that it had ice after one day. I have the next size up from this one I bought a couple of years ago and I like it. I bought it for taking to the race track, pool parties and it will keep ice all day in the gulf coast Texas heat.

  • @caesarselfreliance.4081
    @caesarselfreliance.40815 жыл бұрын

They work a little better if you “Pre-Chill” them. If the cooler is warm, the insulation holds a lot of heat. I’ve had the RTIC and Yeti and zippers have broke on both. Just keep it lubed and be careful and they will last a long time.

I've had one for about a year and it works well. I use it to keep my drinking water cold while I drive around in the TX heat as an outside sales rep. Not as good as a hard sided one but it works great for what it is, at its price point. I got mine at Buccees and it has a mesh outside pocket; odd that yours does not.

Should have been an easy fix but Rtic had terrible customer service, took forever to return my emails and when I finally got to where I could suit a claim it was out of warranty. Terrible customer service all around, not once did they provide alternatives or try to keep my business. I would highly not recommend their products do to there customer service being some of the worst I have ever experienced. Pelican Weill be getting my business from here on out. Better customer service, support first responders and awesome products.

I think I finally found the answer to a new lunch box. I work in a construction trade so I want adorable quality lunch bucket. I've had the hard playmate coolers over the years. I've had soft-sided coolers. The one I got now is a decent Coleman coolerbut it's falling apart. RDIC makes a day cooler. All of them are disappointing because they have it minimum padding on the sides. They squash and crush when you carry them. They don't keep things cold for a 10 or 12-hour shift. I've been absolutely disappointed with anything yeti builds. None of them have any pockets. I need something robust adorable that I can put my wallet in, my car keys in, my cell phone in. I need room for ID badges. I need room for cheater reading glasses and medications. I just recently discovered that RDIC makes a side bag deluxe. It's awesome for all those items or you can just keep it separate and inside the cooler itself. I want something that's big enough and tall enough that it will fit 1 l bottles of water, like smart water. Or fit a typical square to-go container you might get from a restaurant. Or a typical Rubbermaid lunch container. Finally found all the right answers. Now it's, to buy RDIC 20 or 30? Hmmm

Now for the real test. A full 6-pack for 24 hrs. Need help drinking the beer?

Literally no one needs help with a six pack. Lol

Zippers will fail. Glue will fail. RTIC customer service will fail. They make good hard shell coolers but that’s all they do well.

I really don't get the point of expensive coolers. The beer is going to "evaporate" WAY before the ice melts.

Put these against the Walmart Ozark trails version and you will see them fail compared to something 1/4 of the price..... RTIC Hard coolers are nice, these not so much but they all are way overpriced.....

Day at the lake, over night camping, short fishing trip, day at the park with the kids. Also it being small helps to carry it around. I prefer something larger too but it’s not too bad honestly.

I was considering one for day trips with the wife and kids (throw some bottled Cokes and a handful of CapriSun pouches in there) until I saw the price tag and the fact it didn't make it much past 1 day with ice.
