RST Leather Race Suit - Rider Review

Here is my review on the RST Sabre leather jacket and trousers, matched up with the Evo Tech 3 WP boots. This has to be one of the most protected, stylish and cheapest two piece race suits money can buy.

    Their gear is available here in the US from Sportbike Track Gear. Overall, it represents a great value alternative to the other more expensive named brands. I purchased the same trousers last year and my matching jacket is out for delivery. So far, I'm very impressed with the quality and no complaints whatsoever.

    RST makes quality stuff.....as good as anyone else, maybe not as many models but what they do make is solid....and i ride in USA.......i have a slim build so A stars fits me well and get decent prices from europe on their gear.....lil more but not crazy....have RST boots and they are so comfortable.......actually prefer to run a brand non popular and check out sportbike track gear......he breaks down all the RST gear and compares it to A stars....he runs a race team an knows his shit.....he loves RST and imports it to US

    Great review. I am normally a 32 inch waist and the trousers were really baggy so went with a 30 and fits nice the legs are above the ankles and look short but boots will cover this.

    I prefer the short fit (well above ankle) as then the boot doesn’t push against the zip when riding 👍🏻

    great video sir, Just bought another motorcycle and am looking now for a two piece suit. Found your video quite helpful. Wondering about Armour rating on it? Any ideas on the CE certification? Regardless as you say - very good entry pricing - well done!

    Thanks! Glad it helped 👍🏻 The armour is CE1 and not expensive to take to CE2; but on the armour front I’m not convinced it’s worth the extra thickness for street riding.

    Nice review. I did not catch pant size? Regular length? Zip is 180 or 360? This is not rase suit but sport touring one. There is no hump and elbow slider. I have (two) Revit Glide as well.

    I bought the jeans and they are a bit loose on the waist, do you think that would be a problem. Also they slide around a lot when on the bike, do you have any ideas how to stop that.

  • @yodomcat

    @yodomcat

    With leathers (I learnt the hard way) you want them uncomfortably tight, not quite a size smaller but half a size. This is because they will give and stretch. That said if the fit is good on the legs and bad on the waist you can resolve this with braces and the leg tightness will keep them up. Also when you zip the top to the bottom that will also keep them up. When you say slide around the bike you mean yourself being more slippy? This is normal, and take a little getting use to (as you need to lock in better). Firstly check your not cleaning your seat with any product as that can make things slippy. Then tank grips work soooooooo much better with leather and keeps you locked in. Your bum is meant to slide to a degree so you can move off the seat. Hope that helps 👍🏻
