Thanks Randy, stoked to hear you watched the whole video and seemed to have enjoyed it! lol! When it comes to stuff like this I am super over attentive to detail. Coming from an Emergency Medicine background also seems to lead my mind towards the "but what if" situations. I've learned it's best to be prepared in unpredictable environment's and that's what off-roading is. I mean... we literally drive into the woods and try to take vehicles into places that vehicles shouldn't be able to go... while attempting to accomplish this we continually place ourselves into situations the majority of society attempts to avoid their entire lives... I'm gonna stop now...

Thanks for checking out the video. I hope this video is informative and helpful to anyone who is planning to do an RS1/Turbo S front differential conversion on their RZR. My goal here was to include as much information as possible to show you what is involved in this job. I also discuss some areas you may run into some issues. Aside from that I go over some additional things you should consider doing while doing this conversion. Like with any custom job, each machine will be a little different and how I do it is just a guideline to help you do the swap on your machine. Watch it all or watch just the sections you need. If it helps you even a little bit then the video was a success. If you have any additional questions or suggestions then please leave your comments. Making videos like this takes a TON of time so please slap that thumbs up button if you liked the video. Side note: I've had this differential in the machine about 4 months now (at time of posting this) with no issues at all. It's working amazing. Overall the entire conversion was very straight forward and I highly recommend it. The diff feels and works a lot better than stock!

I'm sitting here with a clacking inner rear CV joint wondering how to get the axle out and you just showed me, pull hard a few times. 😎 Note that I appreciate the time it must take to edit such a comprehensive 3 hour video. 😳

Right on! Stoked you found the video informative even though you don't have a RZR. Ya, editing this video took me wayyyyy longer then I planned on spending on this project, luckily I'm a little insane so that got me through it, lol! However, if it helps some people out I feel it was well worth it. Seems like the Talons have some issues with the rear axles breaking. I've heard it's quite common but I might be wrong. Haven't had much experience with those machines. I wish there were more of them around here or at least wish we had one in our crew.

@@AdrenalineJunkieProd You're hearing wrong, the Talon axles are very good. The i4wd leaves something to be desired when you need a full locker, there isn't one. I, and others, would love to see one in your group but you have a well rounded bunch of rides otherwise. The KRX is impressive in many situations, that's for sure. Insanity has served me well over the (many) years. 😎

Didn’t you put a sandcraft rebuild kit in your diff a few years ago? Would be interesting to do a tear down on it and see how well it’s held up. Especially given how hard you drive your machine

Great idea! I ran the Sandcraft setup without a catastrophic failure for over 2 seasons. I had the bearings fail on it. I had a seal fail on it. But the Sandcraft internals held up great. I think it would be really interesting to take a look inside. I'll add that to the list of videos!

Thanks for the content, love the riding view points, parts, tires explanations and reviews. We built a lab for skf bearings not to along ago. Just busted the front diff. On my xp4. Coming from MX and atvs I tend to be a little throttle heavy, was the kit you installed from sand craft the bullet proof or bomb proof kits. I’m really on the fence on spending 3500 for this built rs1 swap and giving the 1k bomb proof kits a try from sand craft. Love to see the video on your old diff tear down. Thanks again our family really enjoys your videos.

Good way to clean out the rad is A/c coil cleaner you can buy it in a spray can or I’m a jug and dilute it with water and when you spray it in the rad it’s foams up and pushes the dirt out and you rinse it out works awesome

KanoKroil is the best I’ve seen. Spray some in a styrofoam cup, it will eat the bottom out, because it’s a catalyst.

I used to use Kroil all the time! Was always my favorite penetrating lube. I haven't been able to find it anywhere for years. I agree... that stuff was magical. I like the Knocker Loose because it reminds me of that stuff, it even has an orange can like the Kroil. It smells similar too and looks the same.

So what axles did you end up putting on? Regular xp 1000 turbo axles. I'm converting mine from a non turbo xp 1000.

I’ve got a turbo so I used the same turbo axles I’ve been using for a few years now, I’ve had great luck with the Rhino 2.0’s. So I put a fresh set in. The differential has been working amazing so far.

Would you recommend the John Deere fluid for stock front diff as well?...excellent video., very informative...thanks

I would go ahead and say yes. It should work well in a stock turbo diff or an XP 1000, etc. any front diff Polaris makes that has demand drive fluid as it’s recommended lube should work well with the HY-GARD. Glad you found the video informative. It was a long one… lol.

Hey Julian will the hy- gard oil work with the factory diff as well?

Hey Shane, yes it will. The RS1 diff I put in is a factory diff with some modified internals. The Hy-Gard should work excellent in any diff that calls for the Polaris Demand Drive Fluid.

I had a billet carrier bearing but went back to rubber because of too much vibration and noise.

I haven’t had any vibrations. I’ve been running one on this rzr for around 4 years if not a little longer. I ran one with both the stock prop shaft and the aftermarket shaft. I have noticed it can be a little finicky getting it to fall into place when it’s removed but no vibes and the life of the bearing has been good. I’ve heard of others having issues with billet bearings too. I guess I’ve been lucky.

That’s not a intercooler it’s a oil cooler

That is definitely and Intercooler on the front of the RZR. It’s not an oil cooler.

A intercooler is on the intake and there is no boost tubes going to that cooler only oil lines.

@@joshgardner54 I don't mean to argue with you but, yes it is an intercooler. It is a water to air intercooler. There is a secondary set of coolant lines that run from the intake manifold to the front of the machine for it. For an off-road application like this a water to air setup makes sense. The two coolers in the front and all the plumbing generate a ton of radiant heat. This is a big reason the RZR Turbo's of this era were known for being very hot machines.

@@joshgardner54 You need to read up a bit on turbo setups. I've been playing the boost game for a long time both off-road and on-road/track. Generally people aren't used to seeing a water to air intercooler setup for street use. Often even if they do, they don't realize its water to air. You are describing and looking for an air to air intercooler setup. There are pros and cons to both setups, once again generalizing, air to air setups work better for on road applications. They are also usually lighter and cheaper. An air to air setup depends on good constant air flow. On a road car air flow is guaranteed in most cases. However, off-road you cant rely on that. If you are slow trail riding or mudding then there wont be much if any travel velocity related airflow. Commonly its accepted that an air - air setup offers better extremes but fails bad in some situations. Stuff RZR's do a lot of like mudding, rock crawling, sitting around, etc. The kryptonite of an air-air setup. It will just heat soak without airflow and turn into a pre heater. Also, air-air setups are more prone to air leaks which lead to a ton of other off-road related issues. A water to air setup does not offer the same extremes, but it offers consistency. In the off-road world we need reliability and consistency. The water to air setup usually can't drop intake temps to a level as low as air-air but it can offer consistent intake air temps. Whether you are crawling on the rocks or through mud as long as the fan is pulling air through the cooler you'll maintain a relatively constant intake air temp. That wasn't supposed to turn into an essay like that, lol.
