As a serial contrarian, I must chime in to say I am that person you've never met who was incredibly underwhelmed with doxepin, lunesta, ambien, zaleplon, and all combinations therein. They maybe make me sort of drowsy & do odd things to my memory if I take a hefty dose HOURS before bedtime, but then I'm wide awake after a couple hours of sleep & end up taking ultra dose antihistamines anyway. Doctors finally fell back on just giving me a unisom prescription so I didn't have to continue paying money for it since that's all that works anyway. I'm on the spectrum & very high functioning so my brain is wildly overstimulated by everything in the universe at all times so you have to basically anesthetize me to make it stop enough for me to sleep. Ambien bounces off of that like it's a random vitamin C.

For someone who started their fitness journey fat then spent their first 5 years of training in a deficit (cutting) for the majority of that time , Have I *fucked* myself in terms of not being able to achieve the most muscle I genetically could have (i.e. wasted newbie gains) compared to if I had spent most of that time in a surplus and what should I do now (currently 15-20%BF and feel as if I am extremely underdeveloped for someone with 5 years of training)? Furthermore, if I start doing everything optimally now, would I be able to gain muscle at a faster rate than me in an alternate universe where I had spent those 5 years in a surplus, i.e. does the rate of maximum possible muscle gain decrease as a function of training age (time spent training) or a function of current muscle size as a percentage of your genetic limit?

G'day from Australia Mike and James, a while ago I had a blood test and my GP seemed mildly concerned with my creatine kinase and urea levels. At the time I was supplementing with 5g of creatine monohydrate and powerlifting training 5 days/week. They mentioned that my elevated CK and Urea levels were associated with my training frequency/intensity, creatine supplementation and dehydration (I find the last one hard to believe seeing as though I was and do drink 1 gallon+ of water a day). I am a healthy 22yo male with no familial history of chronic illness to my knowledge. I have been training for 4 years as of February 2020 and follow a (mostly) clean/healthy diet. From my understanding elevated CK and Urea may damage the kidneys and perhaps some other funky things in the body. The GP mentioned taking regular breaks from creatine monohydrate (say, for example, every three months take 2 weeks off completely), reducing my training frequency and/or modality and drinking more water. Is there any cause for concern considering my circumstances? What can be done to achieve a healthier blood profile? Do either of you have experience or knowledge in this topic? Would be interesting to get your take on this! Love the webinars and KZread content, I'm currently saving up to purchase RP+! :)

Is variation necessary for a bodybuilding or someone who wants to look good? I have a home gym so I can only do 1 exercise per muscle. Will it matter if I do enough volume with it?

Do fatigue management and volume landmarks change significantly when training gymnastic movements on the rings? (Like iron cross, planches, malteses, etc.). I'm curious because the exercises used to condition the muscles are not compounds and the range of motion is not that big, so my guess is that they accumulate less fatigue and allow for more volume.

General question to anybody that can help. After you finish a 4 week cycle of increasing reps, weight, volume, etc...and after you take a deload...what weight do you pick back up at? Is there a percentage based approach?
