Royals in Scotland: King Charles Attends Ceremony of the Keys in Edinburgh
King Charles attended the Ceremony of the Keys at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh on Tuesday to mark the city's 900th anniversary.
The King and Queen are in the Scottish capital for two days where the King is set to present awards at an investiture ceremony and the Queen will host a reception for bookshop owners, writers and literary organisations.

Wonderful . Scotland is a Great Country . If I may I would like to say that coincidentally we in British Gibraltar Overseas Territory have , the Ceremony of The Keys every year . A 320 year old British Tradition , since 1704 . The Famous Fortress of Gibraltar .

It is so great to see King Charles out and about enjoying his time in Scotland.
I love the fact that the Royal Mace, which is the symbol of the Monarch, is turned upside down to indicate the actual presence of the Monarch.

It's a bit early for his summer holiday. And he will have to appoint a new prime minister in a few days, I don't think he want to risk a bad fate and receive the new prime minister for his first time in Scotland... Anyway, Balmoral Castle will be open to the public this summer till 11th August, therefore it's unlikely that Chales begins his summer holiday in Scotland before this date.

@red.aries1444 really? The Queen always started her summer holiday whilst the castle was still open. She liked to stay in a smaller property for a few weeks first. Thd King prefers Birkhall.

@@rogerfielding1117 There are in fact 3 new equerries, one of which replaces Johnny and 2 vice-equerries. For Johnny was created a new job, which was first called as "super equerry" and now looks to be referred as "senior equerry". I understood that he didn't like to leave army, which makes sense in so many ways. One would be retirement (which I don't believe the reason in his case, since he is very motivated as to army.)
He needs a new tailor.
