Royal Enfield Himalayan Stock Handlebar Dismount and Replacement DIY

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey
Story of the stock handle bar. I did crash as some of you would have seen in the vid uplodaed in september before I did the Spiti ride. Handle bar was slightly bent at that time. And the bike did fall after that, not while riding though, where it was finally bent beyond comfort. Shoulder started aching, I had one in stock but laziness is incumbent for a frivolous soul like mine :D.
At the end had to be done. So here is a short DIY
Cheers :)

    The only KZreadr who actually gave me enough confidence and logical proof to even start working on the bike. Can't believe it took youtube algorithm two years to suggest this channel, albeit all I search is DIY on REH. People working in the service centres (in our region) are extremely qualified, to the extent to which they have started to screw up tuning the clutch and still try to get away with it, giving some kind of bogus explanation. Well, it's their daily job; passion and love for the work are just words. But we have Leuheanrede, All is well. FYI: Whenever I talk about this channel I am like " There is this totally underrated (w.r.t. some channels with weak info) channel you should check out leuuu......leuh....something ill share it later". Might be just me finding the channel name hard to pronounce😅😅. Thanks for the content.

    Nice. I changed my handle to the Art of motorcycles one. I didn't think the height rise would make much difference but it has immediately changed the entire feel. They are slightly wider but no more shoulder pain. You sit more upright. It is also wonderful for offroad positioning as well

    Well, this is where I get confused. The only reason I was having the shoulder pain was because the handlebar was bent. Otherwise there is no pain while riding the stock handlebar. But confusion is this, I believe in the saying "Chain is as strong as the weakest link". And this is where it gets disputable. As on any given day say if the handlebar is weak enough to bend, in a way it is taking the load of off the triple tee, forks and rim. I hope you are getting my point :D Kudos :)

    Hey leuheanrede, thanks for this video, helped me a lot. Have you by any chance noticed a kind of small plastic block with a spring inside on the left electrical switch? This small plastic piece and this spring fell from inside when I was reassembling everything, and I just could not find where to put it back. The whole switch assembly seems to be working fine - left and right blinkers, horn, high light flasher, high/low light selector and the choke lever - , but it would be good to put the little piece back where it belongs. I took a good look on the inside of your bike's switch on the video, but could not find anything like it... If you by any chance remember seeing something like this - a small plastic block with a curved side, and a spring inside it - please let me know. Thanks in advance.

    R E service has become so pathetic and time consuming in recent years that at the end atleast Himalayan owners have to resort to self service . They charge you of each n every small bit and take at least a days' time for small issues, but 80-90% times it remains unsolved. have been facing a lot of issues related to service of my 5+ years old Himalayan. thanks for the videos brother 🙏. Now I too have decided to do most of it if not all , by myself.

    Hey bro, I think the one you are mentioning is that aluminium/black one. I believe its a good upgrade as its about an inch wider and in addition that brace will add the required strength aswell. I am myself waiting to upgrade but two things holding me back are the price and the width( as that can be slightly cumbersome in stop go traffic) Cheers :)

  • @leuheanrede

    @leuheanrede

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hmm. Some honest doubts here. Whenever I fall impacting the handlebar, which is the weakest link, it bends. What if I have a handlebar strong enough, that doesnt bent. The impact is gonna go somewhere. that being, the fork tubes, the front rim and the worst of all, the chassis. I shoudnt be speculating, but havent we heard a lot of chassis breaking incident already ? I dont know. But I still believe in letting the "weakest link in the chain breaking, before impacting the important bits(i.e. Chassis ) Please share your honest advise/opinion on this! Cheers.
