After 2+ years of course

Amazed by his voice. The way he reachs the highest note without any move, any effort, any expression, so easily.

I saw him only once live in 1987 in New Hampshire. After the show, me and my buddy saw him entering his limo. My brother in law buddy Barry was brave enough to yell Roy and he stopped outside the car. I was too scared, but Barry said this man loves you-how about an autograph. I still have it in my man-cave 25 years later. Roy's voice is not just for Rock and Roll. It is for the ages.

My favorite part is "Then all at once, he was standing there, so sure of himself, his head in the air." I think that line is better than the entire rest of the song, it sounds so pure and dreamlike.

That's exactly the same thing Elvis Presley said Elvis was the greatest personality in the world and he said Roy Orbison was the greatest singer he still is the king I think he was right too

Roy passed me by in the 60’s I was a motown ‘freak’ but his back catalogue is sensational and the voice.

I was born in 94, im 18 and Roy Orbinson is one of my favourite artists.

I always thought that was one of the most emotional songs ever written...a song for everyman really...

What a voice, absolutely majestic. The best ever.

Gives me chills. So pure, so good, so fine.

Still get goose bumps at, "you turned around and walked away me".

Occasionally, gods do walk upon the earth - Roy was one of them.

One magnificent performance after another from a modest man with a unique voice. He makes it look easy to be great. The best ever.

That crescendo at the end always gives me chills.

Roy was amazing, but has anyone noticed how good this band is? They would go on to form The Atlanta Rhythm Section and score a couple hits in the 1970's. The transition at 1:25 is so smooth I get goosebumps. Touring does make a band tight, and back then - they'd play 2-3 shows a day. It's hard work (I know - I've done it) and people think musicians have it made - not quite. It's a grind, but hearing a tight combo like this backing that great orbison voice is wonderful! Hard work is worth it.

@@edwardmorris3453 Edward, thanks for your compliment. Lyrics hit the heart whilst the melodies hit the soul. My comment on Roy related to feeling...he wrote and sang many numbers, was a musical poet who was able to resonate with my memories, whichever number and wherever is heard.

I was a sophomore in college in 1965 and wish I could have seen him in a small venue like this.

I saw Roy at a bar in Long Branch,NJ IN 1980.He sounded even better live than on records.

Saw him in Austin, Texas in a small venue in 1984. He performed Running Scared twice at the end of the show, just to hit that last high note. One of the few music concerts I have ever seen that brought me to tears, because you knew that you were hearing something unique - a treasure.

No falsetto..pure natural voice...when I was a little kid in the late 70's I asked my mom what do Angels sound like when they talk, and she played this song... RIP Mr. Roy Orbison

My mom was heartbroken when Roy died. I remember the morning I had heard about it. My sister and I had missed the bus and my dad was driving us to school in his 2WD Dodge pickup. I was stunned. Roy wasn't all that old.

According to the producer of this song Roy planned for the last note to be in falsetto. The producer told him that just wouldn't work but Roy was sure he couldn't hit that last note in full voice. Well, they did the cut and, of course, Roy nailed it. He tended to scare producers later because he seemed he had lost it. Instead of rehearsing as most do he just mumbled the lines to himself. He would then nail it on the first take.

I was born 20-30 years after this music was made....does that make me young? Cause I really love this music.

I'm 36 this month. not old. I was a kid when Roy had his big comeback in the 80s. My son is 7 and I have been singing him these songs since he was a baby. I've showed him the videos and played the cds too.

Saw him twice in Vancouver. Meet him at the Cave.

Very touching comment. Not going to lie, I teared up a little. My parents are still alive, mom has always been a huge Roy fan, but I haven't seen them in 9 years.

(Anyone else see resemblance to Johnny and Edgar Winter?) He's been giving me goosebumps too since 1957 when I was a little tyke with my nose pressed into Mom's old one dial Bakelite radio, so yeah you're young, hope you enjoy every timeless minute of unforgettable voice and soul like Roy Orbison's. RIP Roy.

First time I heard his voice my dad was listening to him and I can clearly remember I was like his voice is amazing. Mind you I must have been around 7 or 8 years old at the time. The vibrato in his voice is just out of this world. I share all these great musicians with my kids so this music never dies.
