Can you imagine.....back in the mid 90's.....when Gary and Roy were making their way in the united first team....and Jamie is doing similar at Liverpool....not a single person would think the three of them could ever seem to get along great....almost mates like.

I feel central midfield . That's the engine room , if that's substandard your class striker has less chances and keeper comes under more pressure. Liverpool were a prime example of it this last season

If you’ve a keeper and strikers who are great and can peak at the right times you can win cups but if you don’t have top class midfielders you wont trouble the league cause you can’t rely on great moments week after week

I still don’t agree that de gea is a problem. his salary maybe but not when he is on the pitch. Dudes a wall but when your team play like that and you have to watch it, you get depressed mate. Peter schmeichle and van der sar didnt have to deal with such issue week in week out for an entire season. Carragher was right about United lacking that quality upfront. Funny that Roy and Gary are claiming that Schmeichel made saves in big moments but just look at the 1999 champions league final. The goal that Bayern scored was a huge mistake by Schmeichel. But United had the quality to still create and score goals so they could dig themselves out of his mistakes. This current United team is just poor upfront. Yet I hear more criticism of De Gea than players like Sancho, Antony, Martial, etc. How many assists have United's wingers had this season? You have a right winger that hilariously can't use his right foot. Yet De Gea takes the brunt of the blame and he had the most clean sheets in the league!

Casemiro was good at Madrid and played an important role but his impact on and importance to Real Madrid wasn't on the same level as Keane's effect on united.
