Swap Gerrard with scholes 🤔

Both players could do it all. And there were moments in both their careers they would be first name on the team sheet in a World XI. Gerard was talismanic, Scholes was the gem! Miss watching them both. Luckily, there’s YT!

Scholes all day. Ask Zidane or Xavi next time you see them putting their bin out.

Keane’s opinion is fairly important too, given he played with him week in week out

Scholes was the best.

Scholes could have been a number 9 or number 10, but SAF wanted him to influence the game more than that because he was so good, and making him a CM won United many more trophies than Gerrard's Liverpool.

Trophies are team awards. Pound for pound attributes, Gerrard is better than Scholes.

Scholes for me. Agree that Gerrard was perfect for Liverpool.

Look how reluctant Keane is lol. Even he knows Gerrard was better.

Gerrards impact in the final in Istanbul is massively exaggerated, he scored a header and dived to a win a penalty but didn't do much else, didi hamman won Liverpool that game

Gerrard much better defensively - sheer pace, strength, guts... Scholes wasn’t the best defensively, tenacious and aggressive but nothing like Gerrard... but Scholes was a magician - up there with Gazza and the very best ever in the world! Attacking wise, Scholes had everything, predatory striker-like finisher, great in the air, magic vision and the purest strike of a ball you will ever see! Gerrard’s my captain fantastic and Scholes is my playmaker! Horse for courses... Zidane was like the two rolled together - like Messi and Ronaldo put together... but R9 in his prime or Gazza in his prime were another level up again, similar to Zidane... R9 was unstoppable and had everything! He’s the most destructive for me - he’d just destroy any team on his own and nothing you could do about it!

Keane is not biggest fan of Scholes for some reason. Keane was last of type of footballer going extinct. Scholes was type of the modern game. Gerrard was a roy of the rovers type. Gerrard would "will" Liverpool over the line like Keane for utd. Scholes just outplayed people.

Scholes made the team run much better AND gave goals and assists. Stevie was great individually.

I don’t think it’s a fair comparison. Both very different. I’d go for Scholes cause he dictated the play in so many games and was technically more gifted. Gerrard was a beast though. An all rounder. He could do a bit of everything. And by no means bluff his way… he wouldn’t look out of place at centre back or centre forward in his prime I bet.

It's about leverage. Gerrard did decide games. Scholes with the ball at his feet made every team mate within 40 yards a danger for the opposition - those players don't come by often.

I always felt people outside United rated him more highly than inside for some reason. Like Henry, Messi, Zidane all singing his praises. Ferguson rated Giggs and Cantona higher

Scholes were far better that Gerard ...1 fact Paul scholes retired from soccer ...Sir Alex go get him back and say we need you scholes so for me that alone say alot ...Sir Alex did not do that with any player ...Paul scholes is the best 6'7'8'9'10'11 what ever role you can play him that why he is a Legend ⚽❤️🙏🥇🏆

Gerard always stood out in an average Liverpool team. Lampard was better than both of them

Gerrard was a very good player...nothing more....Carraghers obsession with him is insane, what exactly did he do in the 2005 finale? They got 3 crap goals in 10 min and was played of the park for the rest of the game...
