There’s only one

Never heard a quintet play the blues and make it sound interesting and modern until now. Roy Hargove's opening is all the way gut bucket blues and the piano player did his thing. The sax player also held in down but you gotta give it up to the low end.

Great video....Roy was one of my favorite trumpet 🎺 players, right there with Miles, Lee, Freddie, Clifford, Dizzy, Fats and Chet thanks again 🎵🎼🎶🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Sometimes I feel like he just flies through notes too fast for me to get what he's doing. But I agree, so much soul in his solo here.

"last" great? I just met his college roommate, Geoffrey Keezer and his former bassist, Rodney Whitaker. There are TONS of greats around, alive and well.
