AVROTROS is a Dutch radio and television broadcaster, founded in 2014 from a merger of AVRO and TROS. From January 1st, 2014 the name of the merged broadcaster was used in joint programmes. One of the best bands from the 70s. Bryan Still going strong and singing well. This was the very single I recall from them. Many more great releases followed. Mimed here (as they always were on this show which I think was a Dutch version of TOTP.

Wat a band my favourites since 1972 since I heard Virginia Plain. Ive bort everyone of there albums n cassettes n dvds..do I like them.. no i f****** love them!!!!

Saw him and Bowie on the same TOTP as a kid. What an impression they made.. it’s all we were talking about at school for days afterwards.

Well, no bass guitarist in this video. Still, good though. I saw Roxy Music around '83 or in '84 in my hometown of Santa Barbara, CA. at the Santa Barbara County Bowl. The Stranglers (Hugh Cornwell, Jean Jacques Burnel, Dave Greenfield, may he Rest In Peace, and Jet Black. And may Jet Black Rest In Peace as well) opened up for them, also one of my all time favorite bands. I also saw Bryan Ferry in 2014 and in 2017 at the SBCB. He still looks good for being in his early 70's and still has an excellent singing voice.

What is that wheel logo at the beginning of the video, anyone?
Does anyone know if they were really playing their instruments during the miming? I KNOW that is the studio recording playing but I've always wondered if the recording was suddenly turned off what would we hear--I mean Thompson is obviously hitting the drums with his sticks and Manzanera is fingering and picking the guitar--I suppose he doesn't have the guitar plugged in...On the whole it must sound weird!

@** Well, thanks for answering (I never get any responses when I ask this question) but you didn't understand my question. I KNOW that it is a studio recording playing and that they are not playing live. I am just curious ( maybe that is the problem!) what they are doing in regard to their instruments during the making of this video (in Ferry's case his voice, of course--is he just mouthing the words or is he making audible sounds?)--As the recording is playing are they singing and playing AS IF they were doing it live (As I said above, Thompson IS hitting the drums with his sticks and Manzanera IS moving his fingers on the guitar) i.e., trying to make it sound as good as possible (for example, is Manzanera's guitar even plugged in?) or are they just doing enough to make it LOOK good, as it were? I assume, of course, that they can hear the studio recording playing during this process--I can't put it any clearer than the question I already posed above: IF the studio recording were suddenly switched off while they were making this video, what if anything, WOULD WE HEAR from them?
