If they are a dry sleeve then why are you adding O rings?

This is done to isolate potential coolant leaks in the cylinder jacket from mixing with engine oil. Top hat seals the top of the bore, o-ring seals the bottom. The o-ring groove is machined into the sleeve by Darton and they supply 8 o-rings with the purchase.

@@dajiban so you machine an O ring grove in the bottom of the bore or is it part of the liner? I work at John Deere and regularly build wet sleeve engines where the 2 lower oil rings sit in the block and the sleeve slides down. The top seals water with the head gasket as you say but if the block isn't precast with the O ring groves where do they sit on a dry sleeve? Do you have any videos or picture I could see? I was thinking of adding twin turbos to my 4.0 2004 D2A and not that I have issue with liners yet but to make a bullet proof block in the future I'm researching ideas now. I was under the impression top hat sleeve will stop the liners moving but if the block is leaking coolant through the bore walls then the block is gone. If you can add lower O rings then the block can be use Cheers Adrian

@@psiwog single o ring on the liner side (can see the grove in the bottom of the liner he is holding in the video) the grove is not on the not block/bore side.
